I want to put bags/topcase on my '03 XX. Can anyone recommend anything--it seems Givi has the market cornered?

yeah, for the actual cases Givi will be your best bet but there are other mounting options for their cases. SW Motech is a popular setup. I personally use the Givi cases and rack, works fine for me. There are some OEM cases you can track down but they don't offer a top case option.

Welcome, I run Givi side cases and a top box with rear brake lite. I've had them for six years. Be sure to buy the liners, they work fine and you don't have to take the boxes off when you tour. I have not changed my windshield yet, but almost everything else. Givi has updated their design over the years and they are easier to access now.

Here's a pic of my setup. But I use a Secdem one now, I prefer the styling. Search the site for wind screens and you'll see a lot of options. If you really want to make it more comfy get some VFR('02 and newer) clip-on handlebars and some foot peg lowering brackets... great little mods.

what are the part numbers for your bag set up. Local shop here is telling me $590 for the side bags, $390 for the top bag and $300 for a two rack system. They didn't seem to know much other than what was in the catalog.

shop at rlmotorcycles.com, they have good prices and ship quickly.
I have the E41 side cases w/gloss lids($539), V46 top case w/gloss lid($295), the wingrackII; choose with turn signals (N140=$200) or without turn signals (N141=$162), and the Y158 fitment kit ($104) for the XX.
I opted to also get the stoplight kit for the top case (E105=$51), as well as the liner bags (E73=$30ea.). I also bought the mono-rack (F248=$139) for only carrying the topcase, that's what I leave on the bike when I'm not on road trips. Oh, and get a set of 3 locks so all the cases are keyed the same (Z228 = $30.)

I have a GIVI top case and bought an SW Motech tank bag last week. Both are fantastic and serve me well. SW Motech stuff is high qaulity which you would expect from german made stuff.

I have the corbin beetle bags and love using them, i think they have alot better style to them since they curve with the bike and look like a stock addon

The beetle bags do have nice lines, but correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think thet can hold a full face helmet ?

No your not wrong they can not hold a helmet, They do lack some of the storage capasity but I think the look more then makes up for the slight lack of storage.

Not when you're touring with your wife, S.O., G.F. etc. I find a top bag important for carring bike stuff and the brake lite on the Givi tip bag is an added safety item that works! My opinion, of course.

I do like the top bag that they have for the bb but I think the side bags look tacky for the kind of money you spend on them
