I always have glasses on so I have a tinted pair for the day, yellow for low light, and blue for night. They are both made by "curves", and have foam on the inside of the frame so that wind doesnt make your eyes water. I usually skip the yellow lenses becuase i like the blue better.

So I was just wondering what color lenses do you guys use for glasses?

Blue lenses are about the worst thing you could be wearing for sunglasses. They may be aesthetically pleasing, but the blue spectrum does not aid your visual acuity in the least.
I would strongly suggest you consider a gray smoke, brown, or vermillion for daytime riding while still maintaining reasonable color rendition. You should also consider polycarbonate lenses for the impact protection that they offer.

The blue lenses are for night time. I use shaded ones for daytime. Blue lenses are designed for night use.

These glasses are designed for motorcycles and are rated for impact.

i always have my helmet on, so unless its nice and my visor is open, i wear both.

At 63 y's old, some of my "toughness" has evaporated. Of course I'm stilll " a legend in my own mind", but there are too many crazies out at night; stoners, drunks, idiots etc. and I don't want to get up tight and personal with any wildlife when I travel. Just don't have great night vision any longer so I play it safe. Begin early then stop early. I've ridden a lot of kms but not at night. Coast to coast, but no night riding. I'm happy with a 4-500 mile day. I suppose night riding has, "its charm" and I know a few who love night riding, I'm just not one of them. Besides, when touring, what can you see at night. I've become ultra conservative in my senior years. I don't ride to school/work so only on the weekends and with two months off in the summer, tons of touring. cheers to you "night riders". When the Boogie Man has a full rack of horns and four hooves and is very stupid, yes, I'm afraid.

When I was competing in trap and skeet shooting, we used to wear yellow lenses for normal light and pink lenses for low light.

I have grey lenses that are coated with a blue mirror like finish. I think Briko calls it iridium coating. Revo, Oakley and many other manufactures have similar coatings. I use some similar ones when I bicycle ride. For bicycling I have a couple of different options. Gotta go with something that matches conditions and the rest of the kit. Allows for cool color styling while reflecting away glare. These are typically grey or brown lenses that are coated. Work great for day riding. For night I have an very lightly tinted amber. It brightens things up nicely. I too typically ride with sunglasses under my helmet so that if things are getting toastie I can open up the visor for more air. We don't have boogie men in my area so I'm not afraid of the night. The boogie men are too afraid to come into this big city. Big Mountain Lions Yes. (Cops gunned one down the other day.) Boogie men no.

The only guys I have picked up off the highway from impact with deer or elk has been at night. Usually, the rider walks away, maybe a little bent but not broken. The deer and the bike don't fare as well.

I shudder when I think of hitting a deer or whatever. I did have a near miss with a deer in Idaho many years ago but I was lucky, it wasn't my time yet.
Today I'm picking up a new pair of prescription sun glasses, Maui Jim's, they are polarized, a have a yellowy brown lense, progressive, and weren't cheap, $800. I lost, miss-placed, my last pair. I can't ride without glasses. Day glasses turn dark in the sun but aren't sun glasses. The good new is, tax free and $200 from Blue Cross. Living the good life is a bit pricy, n'est pas?

I wear my regular glasses all the time and change to a tinted shield during the day. On the new Shoie helmets it's a snap. Just bought the Fog City liner that gets darker in the sun but the jury is still out on that one.

Anybody eles have any experiance with the Fog City products?

Dark gray in the day, clear at night, and yellow when it rains or in low light conditions.

My eye glasses have transition lenses in them and I use a tinted visor on my day time helmet. I try not to ride at night if I can avoid it but do have a night time helmet with a clear visor.
