More updates.......
I picked up the lady's version of the jacket today.
The jacket design is basically the same as the men's version previously posted, although it is tailored to fit a woman's physique. The zippers and snaps are on the other side as is typical in women's garments.
The front storage compartments have the interior storage pockets reversed from the men's version. The key holder is in the left side pocket, rather than the right, etc. The only other change is that the interior lining pocket is also on the right side of the interior lining as well, verses the left on the men's.
I asked two women in the store to try it on and they both said they liked the fit. A friend of mine wants to buy one of the men's jackets (no back patch) and I suggested that he take the women's version home for his wife to try on and let me know her comments. My wife also tried it on and said it fits fine. The women's jacket also comes with two sets of CE armor like the men's version.
I believe that the women's jacket (same price as the men's) will end up being ordered unmodified, unless we can get 100 women's jackets ordered (or you guys can be sports and buy one for your SO's, wives etc.) . I will get them to throw in a back zipper should you want to attach a set of leather pants to the jacket.
If you need any pics posted let me know.

Finally...................
OK everyone, I think I can finally post this project up with pricing and all of the details (pricing, etc.) in the appropriate Group Buy section (not quite sure how to pin the post up).
Anyway...... I was able to get both the men's jacket (regular or perforated version) or the ladies jacket, with the CBR1100XX back patch sewn on (or separate, if preferred), for a Group Buy price of...................$185.00 . Figure about $15.00 or so for shipping and handling throughout the lower 48 states (still checking on this), and a bit more outside of the country. The Jackets will be shipped from directly from First. We will need to create an order for 100 men's jackets (perforated or regular), before they commit to a production run.
BONUS
In addition, Xpert (First) make an excellent sport/touring pant that has removable hard armor zipped into the knees and additional built in hip and shin padding. It will zip up to the jacket. The price for the group will run $110 if anyone should anyone be interested in completing their ensemble and maximizing their safety. The regular price is $200-250. These pants are mesh lined, have articulated back/upper knee panels for comfort, and they will fit inside boots comfortably. They do not have provisions for knee pucks. They use the same heavy leather that they use in the jacket, too. These pants also have two zippered front pockets for change/keys and a leather velcro backed front waist strap that allows quite a bit of adjustment should you decide to have a heavy lunch on the road.
The back of the knees is perforated. While the knee armor is not contractor size, it is effective and is made of 3/8" closed cell neoprene with a hard outer shell. The knee pads fit in a zippered pocket on the outside of the pant leg so that you do not feel them rubbing against your skin.
BTW,
I used pictures of my Xpert pants that are 5 years old. I have 2 pairs, one of which is sized larger for wearing fleece underneath for cold weather riding. Brian (Spicholy), also owns a pair. I want to state this in advance.......I am not making a dime on this deal nor am I receiving any "free" outfits/merchandise from either the manufacturer/store. I just wanted to see this project through to completion!

Yesterday............
The pants come in regular waist sizes ( 38,40,42 etc.) and are cut like regular fit-jeans in the seat and waist area. Unless you plan on wearing something heavier than briefs or silks under your leathers, your regular pants size should fit fine, as the leather will stretch to a custom fit over time. I have an extra pair that allows me to wear heavy fleece underneath should I choose to take a fall trip. The pants length is also relative to a normal average build, that is, a 38 waist pants will have around a 32 or so inseam possibly a touch longer. The pants have elastic between vertical slits in the leather on the bottom and can easily fit into your boots (a zipper closes them at the bottom). I will attach additional pictures tonight.
The Jacket seems to be, in my opinion, cut for a regular fit. I have a large build and it fits me quite well, with or without the liner, and is consistent to other articles of clothing that are in the 2x range. Brian (Spicholy) tried on a large and he seemed to find the fit great, although, he did not install the hard armor in the elbows and sleeves. I find the sleeve length to be a bit long without the armor in the shoulders or laying prone stretched over the tank, where the fit would be perfect. The sleeves are precurved for riding.
Since the jacket is being modified on a separate production run for us, There would not be a return elegibility of the jacket. If you are not sure if you fit in the (regular build) group, then order it without the patch installed (packaged separately) so that you will be able to trade/sell it with your fellow forum members. Another option would be to order the stock production jacket (no mods), with the patch separate. I will contact them to make sure you will be able to exchange the stock jackets/pants with the local store or warehouse, though shipping costs will apply.
The women's jacket is also open-stock (Unless there are enough to support a 100 piece order), so I would suggest ordering them without the back patch installed if you are not sure, to keep your return elegibility.
In the modified jacket, I had them install the gathering straps, mid torso, on the men's jacket to allow a rider to adjust for a tighter fit. These jackets do have elastic panels in the shoulders and waist area, and will compensate a bit if should you be a bit on the "husky" or well-fed side of the demographic curve.
At this time, they do not make these outfits in extra tall or short sizes. Note: I spoke to the First representative. He said that jackets 3X and larger incur an additional $10 charge.
The men's jackets are available in small through 5x
The women's jackets are available in XS through 2x
The men's pants are available in even sizes from 30-46 waist.

Brian's post...........
Just an FYI. Yep, I have the XPERT leather pants. They are built and sized as described by Al. They are quite comfortable. I tried on a large jacket and liked the fit. If this buy did not go through, I was considering buying one anyway. Just checked my sexy figure out. I have a 44" chest and a 40" belly. Even though the belly measurement is listed as 38 max., mine fit just fine.

The jacket and pants are designed for an 8 inch attaching zipper. This is not race-spec gear but rather good protection for about 80% of the riders. I would feel safer wearing this than most textile gear, IMHO (except Motoport, of course). The expansion panels in the jacket and pants do give you a bit of extra room when you need it.

The pricing that I got for the stock production jacket is very similar to the stock off the shelf one. I asked for the desirable features that would work best for the majority of the riders. A full circumference zipper would not work well with the elastic waistband side sections of this jacket, or the matching pants. If they installed such a zipper, it might not match up with another brand of pants (been there). The stock jacket is probably fine as is, I just sought to improve it. I will post this on a couple of other bike forums to help get the numbers up, as there seems to be a decent interest on the .com forum.
As a general (though not perfect) guideline:
If you plan on wearing the liner or layering up under the jacket regularly and are between two sizes and not sure, I would suggest the next size larger jacket if you have the about a 4 inch differential or so (per size chart) between your chest size and maximum BELLY (not waist) measurement. If you are really tapered or thin build, then go with the size chart recommendation. This is just an opinion, but, I haven't been as "tapered" as I used to be since my early thirties. The gathering straps I ordered installed on the modified jacket should help those with a lighter build.
The pants fit more like jeans and have 2-3 inches of adjustability at the waist for you "bigger" guys. The only caveat here is that the next size larger than your regular size will be a bit longer in the inseam measurement (no problem if you wear fleece).

How long are the sleeves on these jackets? Also are there talls going to be available? Thanks for all your work on this.

| The sleeves of the jacket are pre-curved for bike riding. I normally wear a size 18-18-1/2 shirt with a 33-34 sleeve. While wearing a 2xl jacket with the lining removed and the hard armor installed, the sleeves reach about an inch or so into the bottom of the palm of my hand while standing, or roughly a 35-36ish sleeve. Once I sit on a bike with my arms outstreched the fit is perfect for both myself and Spicholy, who tried on a large sized jacket (read his comments).
I would say that these jackets are not fashioned for the extremely tall/long armed, stringbean type frames. There does seem to be a fair amount of leeway for most (not all) body types, however, as long as you are not on the extreme ends of the curve. You could also opt for a one size larger jacket and use the adjustable velcro gathering straps that I had them add to the design to tighten the jacket to your torso, however. The pants are longer than jeans but they are also designed for sitting on a bike and fit nicely for that purpose.
Remember, I did not want leathers that have a track specific, skin-tight fit. These are designed for sport riding and touring duty, with an extra peace of mind only leathers can bring (kudos to Motoport, however). These leathers are 1.3-1.4mm thick cowhide and are of a solid and substantial weight, not shopping mall grade leather!

I would be interested in both parts IF the zipper were able to be made race specifications. I don't ride on the street at all but would like some nice leathers for the strip.
If not possible, then I would be interested in the logo for my current Pakistani made leathers which fit me fine and are already black.

I will try to order extra back patches for forum members who wish to buy extras or for other garments. I do not have confirmation or pricing at this time, however.
EliXXir, I would not represent this clothing as race spec protection. For one thing, it would need to fit like a second skin to provide maximum protection. That level of fit would not be practical or realistic on a group buy.

While I will be ordering a prototype jacket (at a premium) on Monday, the changes in the jacket from it's current off- the- shelf version are spelled out in this thread, post# 29. As to the perforated jacket, the factory will substitute perforated panels in the jacket at no additional charge since there will be no changes to the cutting patterns.
On the perforated model, I would suggest leaving the top of the arm sleeves and the cargo pockets in solid leather. This is to allow for an additional degree of environmental protection to the pocket contents (electronics, wallets, etc.), although the pockets are not truly rainproof, and to a smaller degree, a bit more abrasion protection in case of a fall (IMHO), while substituting perforated panels in the front and rear torso panels areas as well as the bottom of the sleeves. This, plus the vents in the forearms, upper arms, chest panels, rear exit ports, should breath nicely for the majority of summer riding (within reason, of course).
