| Radar/Laser Detectors.
Well, you see here's the thing. Riding home one afternoon from work (Knoxville, TN) enjoying the scenery, came up over a hill and....hello...Mr Red and Blue. "You f@#*ing prick" I thought to myself. He pulls me over and informs me I was traveling 66 in a 50 zone and the proceeds to write me out a ticket. I mean seriously, 66 in a 50 zone!!! He should have given me a bloody medal not a ticket. So now I'm all paranoid about receiving another, I'm a college student and can't afford these little 'inconveniences'. Has anyone got a reasonable solution or maybe point me in the right direction?

Was the ticket written by use of Radar or Laser ?? Laser can be jammed but radar can only be detected. With instant on Radar you are screwed no matter what. |

Well, not entirely screwed but you have to be within a mile or so of him squirting someone else. My V1 gives me plenty of warning if the LEO is a little zealous about zapping folks. That said, its entry price is substantial and, with the remote audio adaptor, the direct wire power adaptor and the remote display, comes to a bit over $500.00. I do even get the occasional laser warning depending on angle of attack and position of the leading cars. At least no tickets so far. 16 over and you are taking chances, had you been doing 62 or better, 58, we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Well, I believe that the ticket was radar. The cops around here don't seem to have anything really sophisticated...it is Knoxville. I guess i was just wondering if there maybe is something that could do the trick for a couple of hundred? It's worth it if it saves me a couple of tickets, but don't go thinking I ride like a clown. It's just that those silly 'Speed Limits' seem to be so low. I would just like to travel at a comfortable speed and, ya know, relax, enjoy the ride.
