Has anyone used the Xena alarm disc lock? I am considering this, it seems like you would need to add a chain lock to discourage "dolly" thieves.
Also, instead of these 2 items, is it worth just putting the money towards a Scorpio alarm w/perimeter sensor so the curious get warnings if they try to inspect my luggage when on a long trip?
Thanks.

Yup... A Xena disk lock and a cable/lock is all I use. I don't see the Scorpion with perimeter sensor as being much more secure... Especially since I'm the type that would "taunt" the sensor... The Xena works just fine... Someone moves the bike and the lock shifts... Then the alarm goes off. The cable/lock takes care of the rest (I hope).

Thanks RayK, I think that is the way to go. With a cover and a relatively inexpensive cover alarm, I think I should be set.

guys I'ver never had a bike alarm but I need to get one. Is the Xena disk lock and a cable/lock the way to go? This is going to sound dumb but what does the cable do and does it come with the lock or is it two seperate pieces?

I don't think there's ever anything safe enough, but what you are doing is making it as difficult as possible to steal it.
I never used anything before just park it outside just down from my place....until about a year and half ago someone tried to steal it..
Now I have the Xena on it along with the cable ran through the frame secured to a pillar and under a cover.
I have had no trouble since but I also am a whole lot more vigiliant in protecting it.
Still all in all a nice locked windowless garage would make me feel alot more comfortable I just don't have that available to me right now but hopefully soon..

I just use a disc lock now and it works pretty well. I'd rather have a Xena because it sucks if you forget to remove it My brother has one on his ST1100 and he loves it. I had a Gorilla alarm on my Ducati and it worked great as well, but with all of these things, they're only deterrents. If someone really wants it, they'll get it. The sounds just draw attention so the robbers get a little panicky and might run off, but other than that does nothing. The wiring, etc. and even the disc locks are pretty good but I'm sure they can all be defeated by a skilled thief. Get something that'll work and that gives you a warm fuzzy and that's about all you can do, besides using common sense about where to park, etc.
