Yes, I love it too.....
I am the distributor for Bagster saddles in Holland, and I also sell the luggage systems. I use them since 1996.
Do you know the saddles? Check out Bagster and go to the right to: "Make your Seat".
Basically it is new foam and new upholstery on the base of your old saddle. Most measurements are changeble to what you like....

Re: Honda CBR 1100XX Bagster Tank Bag

I've had baglux on a few different bikes, but the two tone grey harness on my Blackbird looks so cool the way it matches the bike.

When I had my last bike, I was looking for ages to try to find a red baglux bag second hand. Even the e-bay offerings were nearly list price!
I went to the BMF show (that's probably the biggest bike show in the UK, for those not resident here ) Baglux were selling off obsolete coloured bags. Although my bike was red, I bought a grey Alpha bag for £30 . Now I've got a grey bike, it looks the biz.

I love being able to not worry about about scratching the tank, I can then realy snuggle into the tank. (I'm one of those riders that almost sit on the tank)
As for the baggage I haven't even used it, yet......
For those who say polish etc... stops the scratches, I polished mine big time, still from the driRider jacket it got slight scuffing.
The Bagster hasn't left one mark what-so-ever

Baglux = Bagster.

Yep, complete protection for the tank, and a stable mount for a tank bag. How can you go wrong?

O.k, so where are you guys buying these things if not on eBay? Are there any US sites that sell them? And, are they waterproof or do you have to take them off when they get wet like others? Also, I have a magnetic tankbag and would like to keep using it, I suppose I'd have to lose it and get a Bagster tankbag right?

Re: Honda CBR 1100XX Bagster Tank Bag

I get mine through the US distributor. It has changed a couple of times; used to be EuroBikes.com, but now is CIMA INTERNATIONAL. I purchased my last couple from them.

You can find your local distributor here.

You should be able to use a magnetic tank bag over it, but the Bagster bags are very nice, and attach securely to the cover. I think they all come with rain covers that store in a small pouch under the bags (all mine have anyway).

If water gets between the cover and the tag you would probably want to remove it and let it dry out, but as long as the bag is on there it should keep any water from getting in there through the gas cap opening. I always take it off when I wash the bike.

Showerproof is all, but they have an integrated storm cover stashed in a pocket to draw over the top.

I'm told that you can get the catches and loops to attach to your magnetic bag so that it fits on a harness.

The UK importer is here I believe they come from France, don't know of USA importer, but contact them anyway.

I logged onto the Bagster site but could not find the CBR 1100XX listed.

Anyone know if Bagster will make a tank protector in a custom color?

Here's the page: Bagster moto - Catalogue

Choose your Year to continue. The colors shown are the Euro colors, so you may have to pick a year different than your year to find the color you need. (ex. Choose year 2000 and Light Claret for Red)

I don't know if they'll do custom colors or not...If I had to guess, I would say no, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Re: Honda CBR 1100XX Bagster Tank Bag

The US Distributor (linked above) sells the covers for about $125 last I checked. The bags vary a bit, most are in the $150 range I think. Give them a call to get current prices.

Right on Conqy! I've been in contact with the US Distributor in regards to my XX as well as my Strom. The total price for a cover is $135 shipped to your door. I bought one used for my FZ-1 and have been sold on them ever since. It is a great setup!

I can't match the prices given to the US-importer. The Dutch market is small, so we pay more for motorcycling-stuff (and most other stuff too.....).

I have a red '01. I wonder how close the "light claret" is to the paint? Any experience? I have a black L/P and that looks good too (half tank) but the mounting of the tank bag is a great feature.

I had wanted a Bagster tank cover for a long time, but it appears you must use their tank bag as well, since the cover already has the bag attachments stitched into the cover. Since I already had a very good magnetic tank bag (a Tourmaster Cortech 21 litre), I didn't want to buy a new Bagster bag as well. Not to hijack the thread, I bought the new Second Look full tank cover through the group buy that "Texhoss" (Carl Hausler) put together for the .org forum. I paid $129 ($ U.S.) + shipping = approx. $145 (price includes optional $30 embroidered CBRxx logo). It was easy to install (you must remove the tank bolts and lift the tank slightly to attach all the j-hooks) and although not quite the quality of the Bagster cover, it is still an attractive, nice-fitting full cover that permits use of my Tourmaster magnetic bag.

Here's a few pics of the standard black vinyl Second Look tank cover (without the embroidered CBRxx logo) that illustrated the .org group buy put together by Texhoss. Perhaps not quite the high quality of the Bagster but still nicely done. Bear in mind, these are the first prototype full tank covers that Second Look has produced. Optional embroidered CBRxx Logo and other colors/materials are available at extra cost. Although the official group buy is terminated, covers may still be available. Call Roger toll free at Second Look: 1-800-566-5753. Again, not trying to hijack the Bagster thread - just passing on useful information.

Re: Honda CBR 1100XX Bagster Tank Bag

I really liked the Second Look tank bra but I went with the Bagster for versatility. I can attach a variety of their tank bags to the tank bra.

I bought a very nice red one with the CBR logo in Gold. Cima said it would be 3-4 weeks for delivery and I think it's been only a week and it was on the doorstep. Nice surprise.

Nice! It will mold itself to fit the tank better over time. Especially when you get it out in the heat. Just keep adjusting the straps tight as it "settles".

Re: Honda CBR 1100XX Bagster Tank Bag

I need an opinion. I'm ordering a bagster. My XX is a 2001 red. I can't decide if I should order the "light claret" or black. Does the claret color match the paint well or should I just go with the black? Now I have the L/P half tank cover in black and I think it looks good. Any experience?
