    Luggage racks

OK, so I read through many posts and pics about the various mounting options and am narrowing it down to Givi or Motech. Does anyone have a couple of pics of the Givi Y158 N150 combo mount? I believe this is for side bags only without a top case option.

Thanks for the tip, but it looks like you have the full set with the wing rack. The N150 is for side bags only as I understand it. I was trying to decide and havent seen a pic of this mounting hardware.

    Re: Luggage racks

im sure the set up that you are talking about is just the same fittings ( same cross brace) as the full rack the top arms that fit to the top plate on the wing rack 2 is removable so you would be cheaper (and easier to find) buying a full rack and not fitting the top arms
its not a minimoto blackbird - thats its real size

    Re: Luggage racks

    Hey,

I'm currently running 2x E45 cases (use 1 as a topbox when going to work, or both as panniers when going on a trip).

This is the Givi wingrack + other bit that I think you're after, also using the supplied indicators (still holding onto the originals). Personally I don't mind the aesthetic, being matt-black it doesn't stand out much compared to the shiny blue of the bike's paint. Afaik the Motech rack setup looks a lot more subtle though...

    Re: Luggage racks

Thanks everyone for making the effort to reply and post pictures. I read fom most that Givi makes a good product, but does a relatively lousy job clearly illustrating the parts and set up. I contacted them again to send a pic or drawing showing the N150 mount, but they sent me a drawing for the 158/140 setup. Helpful somewhat but not what I was searching for.
Hoping to see a picture of the N150 mount for the side bags only before I make my choice.

    Re: Luggage racks

Not sure if this is clear to you but you will still need the Y158 to mount the N150. The 150 is just the 140 without the top plate and fin supports. I have the Y158/E141 (the older version of the wingrack) with the turn signals, do you just want to see what it looks like installed?

    Re: Luggage racks

Hi,Let me throw this into the mix. I have beetle bags & Givi E52 Maxia top box on a sw-Motech Alu rack with Givi adapter plate. The issue I had was bag lid clearance (beetle open at the top and are hinged at the top from hence the lid doesn't clear a wide top box). I solved it by extending the rack mount backwards to give clearance (bit Heath Robinson as these are just DIY steel brackets). What I need is an understanding welder. Anyone recommend a bike friendly/ bird knowledgeable welding co (pref in UK but not nec).Regards Mallow1

I did understand I needed the Y158, what was not clear was what exactly the N150 looked like.
That said, due to the long lead time on the Motech rack I got the Y158/Wing rack combo.

Has anybody experienced problems with the lower tubular bracket (arm) that connects the foot peg mounting bolt to the lower portion of the wing rack? both sides are clearly a poor fit at best. In fact they will not bolt together at all. If I bolt the top two bolt holes to the Wing rack I am at least 1 1/4" away from the foot peg/muffler mounting point with the last bolt. Just to make it clear I have tried leaving ALL bolts in the assembly loose to try to get it together but NO WAY. Looks like I wll need to bend this tubular piece. Unfortunately I do not have easy access to an acetelyne torch right now, and I would really prefer to heat it befor bending it.

I'm not sure if what you have is the same as mine, I've had no issues with install and there is no bending.

    Re: Luggage racks

Installed now, had to bend the rear cross bar ninstead of the piece that bolts to the foot peg/muffler bracket, not a lot but it had to be done....
