Wife beater
baggy gargo shorts
icon shoes (because there cool)
Some kind of cool sunglasses (okley etc.)
Does this make me a squid?
Now for the truth: Honda 3/4 length jacket, Rf1000, leather gloves, leather boots, and jeans. This is my minimum dress for very short trips. I add alpinestar boots and riding pants if it will be very far.

Honestly I dress for the type of ride.
There are times where I just run up the street to return a video rental and yes....gasp....in just shorts and a t-shirt... .
If I am out an riding a spirited ride of course I wear the appropriate gear.
Yes I am aware of the risk's involved in riding without full protection and I accept the risk. |

Tecnics one piece leathers when I am not stopping much. And when I haven't eaten so much that I don't fit. I also have a couple sets of ballistic pant/jacket combos. They probably won't prevent all injuries, but they are better than T shirts.
I ride rural roads, so I don't think they are out to get me. More likely I will have a rare Squiddly moment and do something stupid.
As we all know " STUPID HURTS".
Edit: Just looked at my Avatar, guess I have worn jeans a few times too.
And Rare may be a understatement for my Squiddly moments. Sad to say, but I hurt myself last validating a brake job I had just done on my Magna. Shorts, boat shoes, less than 30 mph. The new front brakes grabbed and almost tossed me.

Summer:
Shoei Helmet
AGV Mesh Jacket w/armor
Shorts with Cortech pants (o.k, haven't done a summer with them yet, but I'm going to try. Normally, jeans)
Alpinestar mesh gloves
Alpinestar sport touring boots
(Or if we're gonna' be real sporty, AGV 2-piece leathers with Tecknic leather gloves)
Winter:
Shoei Helmet
Cortech jacket with insulation
Cortech pants with insulation
Dainese Goretex gloves
Alpinestar Goretex boots
Windproof neck covering thingy
I wear enough in the summer to protect but attempt to be comfortable. I'll admit there are days when it's so dang hot, it bothers me and takes my attention away from riding, then I'll wear a long sleeve top or something, but those days are pretty dang rare.
The Cortech gear in the cool riding (I've been down to about 35 or so) is awesome especially with a fleece on. I can't even feel the cold. Do have to install some heated grips though ;-)

Scorpion helmet and leather gloves always!!!
Joe Rocket leather jacket or Cortech mesh jacket most of the time.
along with jeans and riding boots or work boots. I just got a new
MotoGP leather jacket (newenough) will start wearing it more now.
I have been known to wear shorts(can't remember when), wear tennis
shoes (blue moon), and go helmetless (can count on my hand the # of times).Even in these rare cases I always wear gloves. Even standing still the first thing you put down when you fall is your hands. I don't want to have to ask someone to wipe my ass.

Aerostitch Roadcrafter suit
Shoei X-11 helmet
Held gloves
Oxtar boots
People at work make fun of the Roadcrafter but I tell them, "It's no skin off my back."

After a comprehensive field test (unplanned) of Cycleport Mesh Kevlar Jacket and Stretch Kevlar Pants (Ultra II) on a major getoff coming home from OzarXX (+70mph high side hitting mileage marker), it is the only gear i would choose 7 days a week and twice on Sunday...
Yep, there were briuse marks and badly tweaked ribcage (landed on right ass after doing a handstand off bars going ballistic gawd knows how far), but other than that there was one small fracture to left wrist, right forearm laceration from hitting a mileage marker (jumped in front of me doncha know), there was not a cut, scratch or rash on the entire body. Not only that, both jack and pants had no tears, abrasions, scrapes, broken seams, etc., NOTHING, just very dirty.
The jacket most probably saved my right forearm w the mileage marker embedding the mesh kevlar, armour and liner to the bone in a U shape causing the flesh to literally explode (about 5" above wrist). The emergency room measured the laceration at 6.5" long x 2.5" wide. Incredibly the bone was not broken, just very sore and a lot of stiches (i almost passed out when i saw it). There was not a mark on the mesh kevler at this impact area, not even a scratch, unbelievable. The imbedded jacket also clotted the wound since the amount of blood loss was minimal (this feature probably not part of the original design parameters).
The Shoei helmet and AlpineStar boots/gloves all did their job admirably too.
Healing up pretty good and should be ready to go in about a month...
So major kudos to Cycleport, Shoei and AlpineStar with mucho thanks from me, family and friends...
B out...

How's the bike?? Hope you're on the road soon.

Helmet, gloves, alternate between textile or leather jacket (both with armor), denim pants and tennies. Looking at getting some boots and better pants.

Well the first time I went riding I was wearing a white halter sundress with sandals.... yup I'll admit that was dumb, got a lot of stares though........
Now I wear boots, at least jeans (if its cold I wear chaps), gloves - full or fingerless depending on the day, and a jacket (windbreaker or leather)
It all depends on the day and my mood at the time. The people now a days that I see on bikes with nothing but what I was wearing the first time I rode, all I do is shake my head and think how ignorant they are and how I once was!

I have a cortech textile jacket, but I can't find pants that fit me correctly, unfortunately. I also have a full face helmet, gloves, etc. But when it is warm, t-shirts, jeans or even shorts, and a beanie helmet do me just fine.
