SR-71 in Transformers

Went to see the movie today, had no idea the original Blackbird had a supporting role, brief in original form and no shots of it really flying, but thought the idea was cool. His "character" was a little ironic.Won't say anymore.

Re: SR-71 in Transformers

So are you saying that it is worth seeing on the big screen, or just wait for it to come out on DVD?

Re: SR-71 in Transformers

I saw the movie last friday and have been going to post this as well..

If you enjoyed the first transformeres you wont be dissapointed with the second..

I have seen both on the big screen and its how I would recommend seeing it.

Re: SR-71 in Transformers

I think this is definitely a Big screen movie, but I still have a 25 in tube tv. I think the second one is better than the first. More action, better fight scenes bigger explosions, typical Bay movie.

I agree--I think this is one of the (many?) instances where the critics (pretty much all of them hated it) are way off the mark. Its being panned for being to loud, having too many fight scenes, and being filled with too many cheesy lines; what the hell do they expect? This ain't James Joyce folks, it a movie about Japanese toys from the 80s...I really enjoyed both movies, and think this one is definitely worth the big screen view.

Re: SR-71 in Transformers

exactly why do we worship the sr-71 blackbird? i mean yeah our bikes are named after them... but it would be like comparing lois to all the women in the world named lois... and well im sure the women don't have hairy nipples and a plumbers crack (maybe a few) .... sorry just curious

Mike, its not just being named after the blackbird its the idea of being the fastest on the planet, the sleek lines, the appeal..

Actually, it's pretty awesome for a plane that was designed, developed and built entirely without the aid of computers. Kelly Johnson was a fricking genius.

Re: SR-71 in Transformers

And the fact that they have a few slow motion scenes of Megan Foxx running with a small top only adds that much more to a great movie. Cqan't wait for the 3rd one to come out.

small rant follows:

What the hell do they think we go see these types of movies for anyways? A story line?? Get real. Stay as close to the original intent, and most of us will be happy! At least those of us "in the know", anyways. I remember reading some nonsense Howard what's-his-name...yeah, Terrence Howard (he's such a fag, but I like some of his other roles, but I digress...) said about the story in the Iron Man movie, like the message in the movie, comparing it to the manhattan project, the "human" aspect, etc. ...now that I think about it, there were some good points, but that ain't the point! All Iron Man needed to do was kick some a**!! Eff a story line! I guess ultimately the producers need to appeal to the widest possible audience (think Star Wars episodes 1, 2, and 3). And don't get me started on the X-men...

Oh yeah...
and if our bikes were called "inchworms", I would've never gave it a chance.

Re: SR-71 in Transformers

This one?

I have to ask as I don't go to the movie theater when school is out. I just can't enjoy a movie that I've paid to see with a bunch of people (kids mostly but not exclusively) talking or texting or otherwise ruining my experience. I'll wait for school to start and go to a mid week matinee.

Some action movies are really enhanced by a deeper theme. Iorn Man missed the mark, but think about The Dark Night. It was as much about the relativlistic nature of morality as it was a comic book superhero movie, and it was all the better for it. One of the best movies Ive seen in a while.
