Now this will date myself a little but what the hell...

I wore out Boondock Saints on VHS when I was in College. Literally the tape broke! I wore out Tommy Boy too, but that one just got all fuzzy, it never broke

"BlackBird lost its speed record years ago", so did Canadian Bird.

Agreed. With this one action wasn't the main theme, imo. I'd consider it a somewhat action filled drama. I think there's too much drama in most of today's action films; to a point sometimes where it just plays w/my emotions and intellect. When they get it right, it's truly art. Now don't get me wrong, action w/o a decent storyline is much of the same. It's difficult at best, to achieve the right balance. I think the first Star Wars trilogy got it right.

(we may have to split this off topic soon)

Re: SR-71 in Transformers

Star Wars is more of an Epic (like tolkien) than an action hero movie. Ive even heard someone call it the great American novel.

well the main reason they made the first trilogy the actual last was because technology wasn't available back then, but george lucas knew that better technology would exist today therefore creating the star wars somewhat backwords. To where the older films were when the empire had fallen and all they had were hunks of junk to fly around in....
at least thats what i saw on TV... (dunno if i can trust the boob tube anymore)
dang... someone should just create a movie's in general topic LOL

I thought Iron Man hit the mark quite effectively. It had several interesting comments about our culture, our many weaknesses, and our redeeming qualities as well. All it was really missing was some hottie in a skimpy outfit (Gwyneth just didn't do it for me) jogging in slow motion.

Visually the movie was great!
the charaters bugged me a bit ... some were done right, some just completely missed the mark!
... ravage
... devestator, wheeljack, BUMBLEBEE (he was & should always be a VW beetle!!!)

the movie is a a loose interpretation of the 80's cartoon, that's where it falls short for me.
