Me & the Mrs took a ride over to DeLand, Motorsports, Florida, Yamaha, Suzuki, Sea-Doo, Motorcycle, Scooter, ATV, Dealer, Used, Parts, Accessories, Apparel , I know it's a Suzi dealer , but they're having an "open house" today, & my buddy is the GM, & the Mrs likes the gixxer's. But I went to get the Bird dynoed, best was 127.83hp w\just Akra slipons, no engine mods, dirty air filter, etc...Damn Busa's were blowin' us away

Yes ! It's hard to stomach but Honda is getting left behind in by all the other manufacturers.
Even the litre sports bikes are doing better than the 'Bird these days

I got my dyno'd last year at Wyotech. 112.7 My brother's dyno'd out at 123. He won in the division. This year he dyno'd out at 137. He credits his K+N air filter. He won again.

My stocker with muffler mod churns out 128 at the rear wheel. 43000+ miles. Having bragging rights for 160+ hp is cool and all, but is it really usable in the real world?
Check 0-60, 0-100, 0-150 in some of the magazine tests. You will find that only a few tenths of a second difference. Just my .02 worth.

In the real world H.P. can mean P.D. and that can get expensive. My 112.7 has cost me time and money. It is nice to know how much you have got on the rear wheel though. I have no desire for more becuz I know I would use it and if I use it I would probably lose it.

In the real world, it's guts over glory. My stock Blackbird will go way faster than I ever need to, and i won't drag my arthritic 47 year-old knees for anyone.
But I just might show a punk it ain't over cause my grey hair is showing.....

From what I have read - a lot can depend on the dyno that is used, with readings from the same bike on different machines varying greatly. As long as the bird keeps a smile on your face does it really matter that much what the figures are?
She sure sounds good though.

I agree with Nutter67. Sounds good. As long as it achieves warp you are good to go.

I'm no where near as good as 130 hp .................... So 150 hp would be a waste

What was the humidity like? That dyno seems to be running some low numbers.Ride it up here, change the air filter, lube the chain and you'll get over 130hp no problem. It's like 65-70 degrees (that's mid to high teens in non-American speak),no humidity(yet) basically excellent hp weather.

94F\26% humidity, & he wouldn't aim the blowers @ the ram air ducts, like I asked him to. He kept them pointed @ the rad\oil cooler!

Not too bad dude on the dyno. I had mine done last month and was pushing 130hp with the K&N and the Scorpion slip-ons. Don't forget to add at least 5% more for the ram air!
I since then have added a power commander with a map. I can pull a power wheelie all the way through first gear now. Scared the living you know what out of me at the race track!! Throttle response is wicked now!!

Nice dry air,but you probably lost a couple to the temp. And ya,I bet some more if the motor couldn't get enough air at wot,the bike would be getting plenty of air normally.

I'm thinking it would've been closer to 135hp, if it had been a little cooler & he pointed the blowers where I asked him to

My 03 was dynoed at 137 at rear tire with a 4-2-1 slip on and power comander. not sure if I have a k&n or stock filter. Bought it after mods.
