Just reading about Europes' weather. Is it as bad as the newspeople say?? We have had the warmest winter in history in my part of Canada - and I mean WAY warmer!!!! It is suposed to hit plus 5C on Monday! (normally minus 10 to 20 at this time of year). Any thoughts or info?

im on the south coast of the uk, and its meant to snow here tonight and tomorrow, and its very cold not sure of the temp

Just been to the beach seems okay,but fruit couldnt mature or ripen this year in my back yard nectarines and fig tree couldnt produce
probably cause inconsistant weather and heat.

It's 11 C today and 12 C Sunday. But it's still to chilly in the shade and roads out of town are still dicy, imho. The lane way behind out home was slippery all day. I'm thinking of March hopefully. I want 15C and dry mnt roads. At least Van to Squamish. I do see some "hard core" smucks out there, city riding Starbucks to Starbucks. Usually Harley types of Duc types.

That's because the Harley types are newbies and don't know any better (if they did they would be riding metric LOL).

Saw a guy riding some kind of motard in town today. Dude was not bundled up either. Bizarre sight considering, as Bach said, the temps should be way too cold for anything short of arctic gear.

certainly in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia (which now appears to have been included in Europe!) is having it bad and -39 has been recorded in Slovakia. Been snowing in Rome and there was a decent amount of snow in Northern France when I drove across it last Monday.

As for the UK yes there has been a bit of snow (white here this morning) but IMO it is certainly no worse than normal and for the last couple of months it has been unseasonably warm. If you read about the UK you have to remember that if one flake of snow falls in London the press and TV here will say the whole country has ground to a halt ....... usually because public transport in the capital was 2 minutes late!

I'm also on the south coast of England. We had a "Slight Dusting" of snow last night, but it's the ice that has formed as the temperatures have dropped, that is causing problems.

This the same beach - last year, and last week. Usually the ice goes out for almost a mile. This is definitely not a normal winter for us. I got out on the raider on Monday for a quick 150 K ride, and was still breathing at the end of it. Many, many years ago I went for a short ride at this time of the year. When I pulled into the garage I bent forward and kissed the steering speed lock and immediately froze solid to it!!! Took almost five minutes worth of wiggling and spitting to get free. In the spring I had to use SOS to remove what I left behind!!!

Just a lazy 30c and sunny here

had rain freezing on roads as it landed the other day.
went for a 100 mile spin at minus 1 last week. roads a bit slippy at times, bike full of salt and grit when got home!
