This is getting nuts now. It's going on 3 weeks that I've been able to ride because of an early blast from old man winter. Precipitation followed by overnight sub-freezing temperatures has left me unable to ride to work in the morning. The weekends have been really cold. So there my Bird sits in the shed. All I can do is look at it. Any of you other Northeasterners suffering from the same thing?

I think I have ridden once in the last 3 weeks. The rains here have been pretty stubborn. Lot’s of standing water.
So, I go out to the garage and just sit on the XX every once in a while.
Sometimes I even get into a tuck and make the “rrrrrruuuuuuuuuuuummmmmmmmmm” sound. Just sometimes though……when, uh, no one is around, uh,…. Mostly. Yeah.

The last few years I was able to ride up until Christmas and even into January. Quote:

I think it's been three weeks since I last "saddled up", so everyday when I get into my car, I look longingly at my Bird, cuddled up to the battery tender, and sleeping comfy under her cover. Too much rain, and a bit of snow. Can't ride out of town anyway b/c of the weather so I just continue to polish her. Maybe if the sun peeks out on the weekend, any weekend, I'll ride. Three day till three weeks off. In Canada there is no place to move to. We need a Caribbean island. Maybe we can buy Jamaca or partition part of Cuba.

A few weeks ago I was actually able to ride to work for 4 days straight. Then came another round of cold, nasty weather. Now, temperatures seem to be on the rise again. Anybody here in the Northeast have their 'Birds out lately?

Here in southern New Brunswick, it's been too cold or too much snow since the last of november, and I have been known to ride the 80 kms to work when it's -10c. Needless to say, I'm having bike withdrawal real bad.

Let's see...I got out for about an hour last Sunday on the Bird but otherwise I've just been puttering out in the garage so that I can at least be near the bikes.
I have never wanted Spring to come so bad before. This winter has just been grey and dismal.
I've actually been considering riding down to FL just so I can see the sun again. Anybody want to join me?

Charles...Riding a sled is a very warm activity. Just a light shirt, Tekvest & shell. Very physical activity you are not just sitting like on a bike.
Oh yea the avatar is my Mrs...She is the best |

Wow- you guys in the Northeast were hammered this week. New York looks, well, frozen from what I can see. Bad luck that. I hope all of you are safe.
Now, honest, I’m not trying to gloat here and really there’s only the slightest suggestion of a smirk on my face. Pay no attention. But I have to tell you that we, in the Northwest, were treated to five consecutive days where riding would not be considered an act of outright insanity. Granted a bit chilly a couple of mornings and a little fog here and there. OK, yes, there was ice, ummmm, a little ice on my helmet one morning. Still, I rode – all 5 days.
(You guys from Florida and Australia quiet down. We know you think life is not sustainable below 50)
