With the switch to 800cc for 2007, what rider do you think will make the easiest transition? I think Pedrosa will make a quick transition because he will be more comfortable on the smaller bike. He is a light rider. It might make him a title contender.

I dunno how much actual difference it's going to make for some riders, given how much electronic assistance that today's technology affords....
Still, it's a physically smaller bike, no doubt about it...

Early in this past season Pedrosa had to start a strength training program to be able to physically handle the 990cc. Now, I think he can only be licking his chops with the switch to a smaller bike, one which he will be more comfortable on. Still, it should make for a great racing season. Let's go Nicky!

The bike that Nicky was forced to ride this past season was a prototype for the new bike. (except for the motor) Nicky did most of the development work on that chassis. I would expect him to do well with it next year.

Its only 4 lbs lighter but with one less cylinder it is narrower and alittle smaller. I think it still all up to the guy that twist the throttle the longest will be next years champ. Theres way to much talent at that level to call it this early.

There's an interesting article on the new 800's in this months Cycle World magazine. It explains a lot of the technical differences between the 800's and the 990's. Despite the displacement deficit the 800's, in preliminary testing, have posted lap times and top speeds that challenge the 990's. Amazing!
