Kyle,I'll read that later, but I know first hand the most important things about sponsorship is how you represent the sponsor. They want their name clearly displayed, magazine photos, the rider not to be arrested etc.I had a bit of experience working with top Canadian road racers and some minor guys too.Usually you have to prove yourself a bit first, the only people that usually will help are business owners you know personally until you start winning. And in drag racing it's hard to get noticed.

I agree with you completely. I know that for probably the first year, I will mostly be doing "free" sponsorships just to get my name out there. I figure I have about 2 1/2 years (the rest of my enlistment) to get this started. There is a lot that I am going to have to sacrafice to follow my dream, but it will be worth it in the end.

My first year racing I entered 2 points series,1 was the local track bike class, the other a separately run import bike series.I won the import series and came 3rd in the track series, but there was hardly anybody in either.A few months later at the next bike show I meet a relatively new fiberglass race body company(Armour Bodies),tell them what I did last year and got a 1/2 price kit.It probably didn't hurt that I worked at a bike dealer. Then I contacted one of our suppliers and got a race sponsorship through them, everything in the catalogue that I needed for racing-1/2 price, which is better than dealer pricing and got my picture in their catalogue. It was easy.
Good luck.

Thanks. I figure that the key to sponsorship is professionalism, persistence and patients. I call it "the 3 Ps to sponsorship"
