What's a "lectron"?
'02 Bird, Yoshi SS full system, PCIII, Corbin GunfighterLady, Givi hard bags with full lighting system, Goodridge steel lines, HIDs, Pazzo levers, Jaws front suspension + RaceTec GoldValves, fork brace, Penske adj rear, Acumen GI, Heli Bars, Hel oil lines, BattleStep rear sets, Samco red silicon rad hoses. Dyna Coils. Galfer wave rotors.
Sounds dangerous!!! ;-)
To my knowledge Lectrons are a "sidedraft" carb...the "downdraft" install to the Blackbird motor will pose some problems with float bowl and float level orientation. They are also a common item on drag bikes. I do not believe they are ever run on a street bike...but of course there is always a first. FBG (Fast By Gast) was one vendor that sells them..he may have info on a transition manifold that will allow them to mount to a Blackbird motor.
Fast By Gast - Carburetors
Shnitz Racing are another vendor of Lectons..they may be able to help, but they may actually source there supply from FBG.
Carb, Lectrons, Suzuki Hayabusa - FBG
I know that some street riders have used curved sections of automotive radiator hose to effect carb installs to older DOHC Honda motors..this seems to work o.k...but there is a couple of bumps in the intake path as the rad hose doesn't allow for the diameter change between the carb exit and the head inlet port.
FBG may also have info on where to source cams.
WEB Cam do a grind or two for the 1137cc XX motor also:

Megacycle also do a couple cam grinds (hardweld and regrind of your stock cam cores..same as WEB). See page 38 of there pdg catalog.

"Stemmata quid faciunt."
Here's a couple of pics of our install on out nitrous dragbike.
You can see that the lectrons would like to be installed as horizontal and flat as possible.
We used some 65 degree bends, about 10cm long, to extend the "necks" on the head and fit the lectrons.
The spacing is about right to fit them, just make sure you start with the inner 2 cylinders and work out to the outers when fitting them.

Oh yeah, you'll love these carbs!
Good luck man!

Hmmmm Chris more mechanincal porn .................. but what is that std shock doing there with that arm?
Full of Hot air? Intercool yourself............ you know it makes sense
Well, apart from the damping which is all wrong, the spring, for drag use ONLY, is actually pretty firm!
You want the rear shock to just about bottom up, under full chat, which helps immensely with grip.
Having said that, the damping is all wrong, due to the drilled out triangle proportioning plates on the linkage (as per our previous conversations).
I have since found a better solution for this, using the oem triangle plates and a cbr 900 RR 1998-1999 shock, measuring 303mm, vs the 319mm oem bird item.
It comes with a softer spring, much better damping with an external reservoir and gives you just about the right ride height for drag racing.
Best thing is that it only cost like 40euros, delivered, through ebay..![]()

stock frame this blackbird is just for the drags has all the street gear on it still. i race one and my friend who owns them race another one he has 3 blackbirds .the one i ride has yoshi pipe power commander and -1 on front sprocket runs 10.1sec @ 139.10mph i weigh 137lbs the bike puts out 143hp .what would need too be done too get it too run into 9sec bracket any ideas
I would try to shed as much weight as possible (delink brakes, 4-1 exhaust, indicators and mirros off etc), fit some cams, lower her at the front and the rear and possibly run an airs shifter.
