    DISAPOINTMENT IS AN UNDERSTATEMENT

Worked on the bike everyday for a week getting it ready for today, biggest bike race of the year.Bought my tech cards for 2 classes.$80.Got the bodywork all on late last night, was meeting race friends with nitrogen tank to fill the new high pressure shift bottle, weather is great, should be a good day to run 9.7's or so...

Roll the bike off the trailer, oil is all over the rail and now its on the tires.Just so happen to have a new bottle of contact cleaner and a whole roll of rags.Looks like its the gen cover again, though I fixed that.Just so happen to bring a tube of liquid gasket,p.i.t.a. but can be fixed in little time.
So I move the bike onto the grass, put stand down, head to trailer to get wooden board to put under stand...bike falls over.Breaks the just repaired left side panel where the big head screw goes in at the top.3 zip ties later its fastened to the exposed coil bracket-good for now,no longer flopping.

Clean up the oil, tighten cover bolts which seemed fine, looks like its the stator grommet which I didn't use sealant on.Seems an awful lot for that, especially since the bike hasn't run in a week.

Fire it up,lithium Shorai still working, but it did drop from 13.4 to 13.05 during the week, hmm, put it on charge last night. All looks fine and then....gas dripping off the slave cylinder area.
Checked the fuel hose, its not coming from there, which leaves the pump gasket as the most likely culprit as I re-used it because it looked fine.
Called it a day, spent 1/2 hr getting my money back, stayed and watched till 3 pm for free.I should be fixing it so that maybe I can run tomorrow in the one "import" bike class at Harley day,but its still on the trailer, and its 5:30.

Im empathizing with you bro. It seems as tho it wasn't in the cards for you this weekend.... Maybe it was a sign that you weren't supposed to race. Grin and bare it, throw a few beers back, get ready for the next one and make the best of a bad situation.

    Good luck!

    I feel for you PG!!

You could use an Irish solution to the problem.......find a guy by the name of Murphy, and beat the crap out of him.
Just one priviso, it may not help the mechanical issues, but it will help your blood pressure!!

Well, the bright side would be it happened off track, not on,that could be a whole different story.

update:oil leak was clutch cover gasket that I thought I replaced. It came off perfectly so I just put it back on-the next night.

OK,the fuel leak is next.Could still be racing tomorrow.

Al. I am picturing a 1920's black and white silent movie (ala Keystone Cops) of the episode. Sorry to have a hearty belly chuckle at your expense, but sh!t happens. You shoulda stayed in bed! At least your ground isn't shaking the beegeezuz out of everything!

Stayed in bed ?No. I shouldn't have stayed up late every night playing mechanic.Stupid mistakes from being tired.

And I hear ya on the shaky ground,I'll take this crap anyday over that.

Sorry you're having trouble Al. On the bright side, you found the gas leak before the bike exploded in flames at 200 kph with you on it ???? (well it IS a possibility??) Next time you will be unbeatable!

Sorry to hear the bad news Al but, as others have said at least it happened before you went down the track, live to fight another day eh?
Is that an Airtech seat unit? I have one of those in my garage but, have decided to go with the Unatec one this year.
