  1. Induction braking could be used to generate gas on board...pick up a small dc electric motor short the ends...now try turning the shaft...the motor has now become a generator and is working against itself...thats induction breaking

now take the leads from the motor and stick them in a glass of water (attach a drill to the motor shaft to simulate it being turned) and tiny gas bubbles will rise from the water

The only onboard system that could work is where an electrical generator was attached to the drive shaft and engaged when you the vehicle was being slowed down
  2. Q about pressure tanks

doing some work on the hydrogen economy, need to compress hydrogen in a tank for to use as fuel in cars & motorcycles

(im aware of hydrogen embrittlement which effects some materials)

    my Q for you

ideally tanks would not be cylindrical or spherical as this makes them hard to fit where space is limited and shape available awkward odd volumes

i can see no good reason why internal struts bridging opposite walls of the container could not be used to stop the container bowing outwards

would there be a dash for a blackbird out there anywhere 2000 model cheers
  6. Hi Sven.
I am currently running a Metzeler V6 on the back, It seems to me like it is allright, It hasnt slipped in the wet yet or the dry either, I am a high speed cruiser, not a knee dragger, But I do give the knee draggers a good run for their money, as I am up their arse all the way through the twisties, So far I have done 8500 klms on it and it has plenty of wear left, the front is a dunlop 205 which was on it when I got it, And still plenty of tread left, 12000 klms all up,
I have always used Metzelers or Avons, They do stick to the road,
But the bird is very heavy and only a few tyres are suited to the bird for the weight of it,
You need a two compound tyre, soft on the sides, hard in the middle, Dont squimp on the price of tyres, as they are the only thing keeping you on the road, Pablo's tyres in Mulgrave are pretty good for price and fitting, Try ozblackbird, com Ozzie site for Blackbirds, I am not an expert on tyres, But I use tyres that wont let go,

    Cheers,
    Brian,

    Hello Deadman.
Can I ask your advice about tyres?
Mine needs a new front. On the rear is a quite new Dunlop Qualifier, but my preference is for something a bit more long-lasting.
    Do you have a recommendation?
Also, where in Melbourne do you recommend to buy your tyres?
    Hoping you can help.
    Cheers - Sven.
