    thanks I have a electrosport unit on way it is direct plug in I will have to check volts to make sure it does not cause oem electrics issues later on for me as well, I am at 51K and it is on original from what I can tell

    Hey man, sorry for the late response...

    No, I didn't get an electrosport r/r, I got a Honda OEM r/r from a 01 model... I have since hooked up the black wire directly to my aux fusebox and my volts are dead solid at 14.3... perfect. A lot of the VFR guys I ride with do the same thing (no kidding, same crummy Honda electrics), when the black wire is left in the connector that circuit is going thru all kinds of connections and such that it gets varied readings of voltage hence the r/r keeps putting more out, creating all that excessive heat and the stator continues to over run... no good. Now, it's getting solid readings and not fluctuating at all. Hopefully this will help extend the life of the OEM electrics...
