| I just got m'self a 'bird!
Hey all – yup another Ozzie bird rider. I just thought I'd do the right thing and introduce myself, it said i should at the top, so here goes! I just bought a new '07 bird, a silver one, and i'm loving it so far. I used to have a CBR1000 a few years back and always wanted to upgrade to the bird as i loved the looks of it from when it first came out. I wish I'd done it sooner having only now just had a nibble of one. Well i'm not sure what else to say, but thanks for putting a forum like on the net! I'm sure it'll come in handy to pass the time of day and to have a laugh and a chat to fellow bird owners. ride safe Scutts.

Welcome, and yes, you might find yourself spending far too much time on this site, especially on non riding days. It's my safe, "porn" cause I don't want any of that shite on my puter.

) why can't you buy a new bird in the US?**whispers** I better not tell them how much i got it for then!! ![]() thank you all for the welcome though. My GF thinks i spend all my 'computer time' looking at pics of the bird anyway, i think she'd be less concerned if i was looking at porn! ![]() I do have one little question though. It's a little embarrassing and i thought while we're just talking here between a few of us it would be a better place to ask. How the hell do you adjust the rearview mirrors!!?? You would have thought that if it was that difficult it would say how to do it in the manual, but no! ![]() My right side is fine, but the left is only just out. Not to the point of if not being usable, it just needs a tweak. The problem is, i've poked, prodded, pushed and pulled them, but they just won't budge a bluddy inch! So before i try getting a screwdriver to them and possibly breaking something, i thought i better ask incase there's a hidden screw, clip or secret password i need to chant to get them to move! This is how they came from the dealer, and it's one of those things that i remember when i sit on the bike but forget when i get off it. (a bit like putting petrol in it after my sunday ride ready for the monday morning trip in to work. Anyway, if you can keep this one discrete i would greatly appreciate it! (you would have thought after 20 years on bikes, and having ridden all sorts of makes and models i'd be able to work it out myself wouldn't you!!!) Cheers all.

It'll only be between the 4,666 of us! If you hold on to the mirror housing with four fingers wrapped around it like you're holding a yoke, or steering wheel, while you push on either side of the mirror itself w/the heels of your hands and/or thumbs, you should get some movement. I only have experience with an '01, maybe the 2007 is electronic or somethin. (please excuse the slight sarcasm)

If i took it to the local honda dealer and asked the same question i'll bet you it'll get back to someone i know within the hour! My life wouldn't be worth living after that! ![]() It worked. I thought it would be a simple case of brute force, but the left one was so stiff i just didn't want to risk breaking something. It gave up in the end – or at least enough so i can now see what's behind me! The right moved with ease, but i'd never tried to adjust that one.... if i had only thought of trying it sooner i wouldn't have had anything to worry about! Oh well.. job done! Thanks for the tip! and don't worry about the sarcasm, it's my second language.

Welcome. You can also buy mirror extenders, so you don't have to constantly look at your shoulders, from The worlds leading Honda Blackbird site |

Maybe it's so they could sell more really cheaply in aus... ![]() $14,500!!! No mine was way more expensive than that (trying to make everyone else feel better..) actually no, i got mine for exactly the same! Plus a good deal on an alarm. The guy looked at me funny when i asked if that's the best they could do. Well you have to ask. ![]() I wasn't even dreaming of getting a new bike when i started looking... a new bird just wasn't even in the equation! ...erm ok i'll stop rubbing it in now. My other bird is about to arrive, and i don't want her catching me looking at bike porn again! (now where's that big'n'busty link i had here before....) cya!

Welcome Scutter. You'll luv the bird as much as we all do. With your mirrors mate get the mirror extenders from Jaws. They are 80 bux well spent IMO. You will find there is no end of stuff you can buy for her to dress her up. The wife usually lets you know where the end is tho.......

Best coupla bucks (literally) you can spend is the 6mm shim for the top of the rear shock. transforms the handling.
