Hi Folks, After 12 wonderful years and 50K miles with my 93 CBR1000F, I decided to move up the technolgical Food Chain. I've been Riding for 25 years and I am an MSF instructor here in Massachusetts. I've ridden it to Canada, North Carolina (twice) and a lot in Vermont, NH, and locally whenever I'm not carrying 2x4's. My new bike is a 2003, bone stock, black in color with 10K miles. Lots of plusses with this new bike over the old but I'm going to need some help making it a bit more long range friendly. I had Heli's on the old bike and the stock bars are way far from where i would have them. I'm thinking of going for the convertibars, other options being the Heli xx or 02+VFR bars or just 02+VFR bars. Any other options out there?
Thanks for any ideas.
Rich

Sorry can't help with the question of the bars, I just sawed the locating pegs off mine so I could move them a little closer as I'm a shorty, apart from that, I think they're OK.
I'm sure there's dozens of others on here with experience of different bars though, including that old favourite the VFR swap |

Thanks Steve, did some brousing and I guess I'll try stock for at least a little while but I will probably end up with the Convertibars dispite the extraordinary price.

G'day from Oz.
If you are patient enough, try to find some VFR bars. They retain the stock look, and there is no reason to replace the brake lines (as is necessary with some other bars).

Hi from Down Under. I found a great tip on this site. To move right forward and grip the tank firmly with you knees. Best o luck and enjoy.

I put VFR bars on my 02 about 10 days after I got it. What a difference they make. Looks stock too.

Welcome! I have Heli bars on my CBR but haven't ridden it yet. I leave for New Mexico this coming Friday to ride it home. Bought it sight unseen with 7K on the clock.

| From New York! I also went from a '93 1000F to the Bird. I found that the F's bar position a lot more comfortable but man do I love the way the Bird rides. I have thought of changing bars on the Bird too. When you figure it out post it up let us know how you made out.

Heli Bars on my 02 Bird. Post a pic of your new beauty. Remember, when it comes to the Bird, it's good to have deep pockets b/c it's a never ending quest for speed, comfort, bling, suspension, etc, etc. Good buy.
