From Texas!! Do a search on the VFR bars and you will find plenty of threads for your interest.

I just bought a set off of EBay for my '98-I currently have the Genmar risers, but my wrists still hurt-should get them in a few days.

Welcome from the windy city. Yes VFR bars are great. Aurora is correct model years 02 and up. I have these on my bike.
Try this link. It has a post with nice pics of various options and a link to installation instructions for the VFR bars.

from Gotham! If this is your first bird are you sure you wanna change the bars? I'd ride around for a while and see if the stockers fit you. This was the advice I got, and still have the stock bars. (although I do retain the right to change in the future.)

G'day from Oz.

Before you change your bars, give the oem bars a bit of time. Let your body get used to the bike and its riding position. Check out the following link Sore wrists??? before making any decisions.

I went with the heli risers, they work great and i've used them on other bikes. I would have tried vfr risers but couldn't find any at the time.
