Welcome from the windy city. These are real reliable bikes. Some issues noted with Rectifiers and Stators. You can search the site for information related to those issues. Many motorcycle mechanics will tell you that the electrical and charging systems on all bikes are usually the most common failure points. Enjoy the bird.

Welcome from the 'burbs of the windy city. You should enjoy this bike very much. As Strek noted, r/r, stators and cam chain tensioners are the norm on these bikes. You can get just about any info on just about any issue you may have on this site, either from the search function or from any member from around the world that also share the love for the 'bird. There are all kinds of bling, performance upgrades and ergonomic pieces to suit you're riding style. Take care of her and she will take care of you. Once you go blackbird, you never go back. Cheers.

I haven't seen to many birds there. Once in traffic a guy bumped me from behind that was on a bird. He was from upper state New York. I've seen a couple at the track. Last year flblackbird hosted a bash that had a couple of birds there. They really are a rare bike.
