Howdy, All.
Took possession of a well-maintained '97 BlackBird about six weeks ago and am having a blast! This is the first bike I've owned in over 23 years, and since the last divorce I believe I am past due for a new toy. While I haven't had a street bike since mentioned, I have still been riding other types of bikes and quads, so the experience is leaning on better than 35 years.
This isn't my first performance bike, either, but it ranks as the most powerful and fastest I have owned to date and I'm loving every minute of it. The guy I bought it from asked me if it was my "Mid-Life Crisis Toy". I'd deny it of course but being 50 years old I suspect there might be a bit of truth in the suggestion. Regardless, this used bike runs like a top and some friends and I are doing a ride a week from Sunday into Southeastern AZ. We all live and work in the Tucson/Marana area and are wanting to stretch our legs a bit and a ride down to Tombstone and Bisbee and other small towns should be a good time.
That is if no one has any problems like I did almost two weeks ago when I was side-swiped by a truck! (Hit and Run) Paint transfer to the left mirror, left cowl and a squashed left arm and leg, but I saved the bike and my hide! I reckon all that experience has paid big dividends, eh? Of course, that instance I consider a "collision" and not an accident/wreck (like the other 13!).
If anyone in Southern AZ wants to join us, drop me a line and I'll get you the specifics. Keep in mind it is just a good time with some open areas to stretch the bike and twists and turns to exercise your rump on the seat!
Great to Join the gang.
Huggy

Howdy, All.
Thanks for the warm welcome. I look forward to corresponding with plenty of folks here and learn more and more every time I check in. Adrenaline, I sent you a PM about the ride next Sunday but let me know where in SW AZ you are...I don't mind riding in your neck of the woods and enjoy a ride where there is plenty of flat terrain to stretch the lungs of my BB! Mebbe we can ride to a mutual point for lunch or if you have some ideas for rides in your area, I'm all ears and interested.
To the Aussie DragonXX, thanks for the sentiment. I look forward to many more years of (safe) riding. I'm an adrenaline junkie so this fills my cup!
ArmyStrong, I've never visited the Big Apple, but would love to. But.............
HooAahh! I did my time in Big A (Combat Arms) and that is where my military disability comes from, but it doesn't interfere with riding (much)! Maybe we'll meet some day if I get to ride the BBXX out to VA to visit my Mom. But that would REALLY be a stretch! LOL

Congratulations Huggy---can't imagine a better choice for a road play machine. VA ride might not seem like such a stretch after you a little more 'bonding' time with it. Wishing you many happy trails kel

| If you decide to stray too far north and need a riding partner who's strayed too far south, let me know.
