Good day Folks
Just swapped a Caponord for a 99 Blackbird, bit tatty but good mechanicals.
Now, what works on them in the way of tyres, front springs, shocks etc? I've tended to put Ohlins on everything before with good results.
Currently on 020's, but what are opinons on 021 against Road Attacks?
I'm off for about a year or so wandering round Europe on the bikeso it's got to be bout right..
Thanks
Steve

| G'day from the convicts downunder
90% of my bike riding is commuting and the 021 are perfect. I regularly get over 20,000 klms are of the rear. Not very good for track days though .... compound is too hard in the middle. I have OEM D205 at the moment and will try a pair of Dunlop Roadsmarts when these are knackered. Have heard some good things about them .............. Good luck
Oh ! and help some of us out here ................... What's a Caponord

Howdy!
You can google caponard it's an Aprilia.
But what's a Tatty?
And what the ell do you do that you can take a year off to ride? I see a career move in my future!
I put the Ohlins on the rear and perfection. The forks need work for sure. There is good info on here bout that. I like the Pilot Roads and BT's all seem to work good. Seems we have mixed results on the Storms and I think a good review just came out on the new Dunlop.
Good luck and you should take some gear with you on your Euro trip and log in from time to time and share pics and stories. Rock on!

Welcome from the windy city. We have threads up on what kinds of tires people use. I'm using the Bridgestone BT014's currently. They seem great but I don't have a lot of mile on them so I can't comment about how well they wear. I had the BT021's on prior. These are better in the corners and provide a better ride. Tire preference normally comes down to what kind of riding a person does. Track days vs touring or just regular commuting. Good luck with the bike and post up some pics when you get a chance.

Tatty : Rugged, rough around the edges, little bit messy. In need of TLC.
Sounds good. Michy Pilot road or the new Dunlop dual compound sound like the flavours of the month. No need for Ohlins. Just have the stock serviced if you think it needs it. Have fun. Go the BIRD !

The job that allows me a year off involves getting old, getting divorced, getting the kids at Uni, selling the house and buggering orf!
I will be taking a smartphone with me that allows email etc so I'll be logging in on the days that I'm not legless on cheap red wine..
And I'm going the Ohlins rear, Ohlins springs and revalve front, BT021's and a gel seat route. Like I said, I'm getting old.. comfort in all things.

While I'm here, I've bought some Honda panniers for the Bird, the only thing that's missing are the instructions to indicate what goes where.
Can anyone please give me a clue.. be it a copy of the inst or a few photos perhaps??
