| I hope you enjoy the BB. If nothing else you will probably notice a difference getting away from shaft (shouldn't be used on motorcycles)
drive.

You know my K1200S was a nice bike but I was really annoyed with how bad the fuel injection mapping was below 4000 rpm. Around town it was just horrid, bucking, coughing, stumbling. The BMW dealer said there was nothing wrong with it and wouldn't fix it. So, now is my chance to fix it by getting another bike. I considered the Blackbird but I didn't like not having ABS. So, I'm going to go without ABS.
Any recommendations on years to seek out or avoid?

The lower the mileage, the better.
They haven't changed engineering wise for 10 years.
Pick up an FI model if you can. Stock, they are little little better across the rev range and will give you better mileage overall.
Oh !, and anything but .................................................. ..................... BLACK

G'day from Oz.
Any year BB is a good one, 97-98 have carbs, 99-07 (97-03 in the US) have fuel injection. The motors are pretty much bullet proof if they are maintained properly with their achilles heel being the CCT and reg/rectifier. Mileage isnt a big factor with a number of birds here still running strongly after 100,000+ km.

SR71 don't listen to this stuff about the color. Its called a black bird for a reason. Actually all the colors are nice but the black one looks the baddest.

Okay, good information for me. Are the Honda Panniers still available? As you can see by my avatar, I've covered a lot of ground and I plan on continuing that, now just faster!
