| fro Oz. Hopefully the other Canadian members will be able to help out with approximate prices for the birds in Canada. I'm a bit far away and only work with Aussie Dollars.

Check all fluids, engine noises (CCT can be noisy but easy to replace) and general condition of the bike. If it looks like it has been well maintained then it "should" be a good one. Birds are generally pretty bullet proof if they are looked after.

If that's the one with 15000 k's ,check the tires for age and wear, sprocket teeth and chain, colour of brake fluid, usual proof of maintenance.I doubt it will have issues but listen for that rattle at 3-4000 rpm(cct).$6500 is about average but we are in a buyers market right now as sport bike sales are low,$6000 might be fair, have a good look.

Prices in Quebec are a bit lower than that. An 02 with 31,000 was $5500; an 00 in great shape and 40,000 km was $4600. I went there from NS because of price and availability of XX's. Here in Atlantic Canada you would expect to pay about $1500-2000 more.
Good Luck!

You must be elsewhere than the West Coast as I never see Birds for sale in BC. At least not too frequently. I'd go for FI. KMs on a well maintained Bird don't matter overly, in my opinion. Were are you located, Canada is a big country.

I've had 4 cct's in 120,000 kms. Get one of JohnXX on this site. Can $ is relatively par with the US $ so they're about $35. Easy install, although I don't do it myself. I'm supporting my tech and his family. Do a CCT search, there is a great deal of info. Some "rewind" most replace. The Bird is an interesting ride; I've replaced a stator at 60,000 kms but still run the same r&r. I've had no major issues other than maintenance. Like many on this board I'm anal about my ride. Same tech for every service and all upgrades. Yes, I've dropped a bundle but she now perfect for me. Keep her plugged into a Battery Tender when not in use, visit Jaws at The worlds leading Honda Blackbird site for add ons and farkles. JohnXX as well. Purchase a hugger!, do a search before you open an "oil" thread! In fact, use the search button for "all" of many of your questions. FW it's W, I use Motul coolant, Motul Semi Synth, Avon Storms, Motorex Dot 5.1 hydrolic fluids, EBC HH pads, full Givi hard bags, Corbin G.F. Lady, full Goodridge lines, brake and clutch, Penske rear, 100 mm over front springs with pre-load adjusters, Escort 9500i with a stem mount, HID low, 100 W high beam, Indiglo tack, Heli bars, etc, etc. At 6 years old and 120,000 kms she runs better than new and looks as new. It's an addiction. Happy trails to you.

Thanks Silverbird, do you do your own oil changes or at a service department. The reason I ask is because the manual says that you require a special wrench, if so how much is the wrench. Cheers!!
