Good morning guys, I don't believe i've made a formal introduction yet, but I figured I'd take this opportunity to introdroduce myself and my newly aquired bike...
My name is Šuane, I'm 23, and i'm graduating from college this semester with 2 degrees in mechanical engineering and technology. I've been on bikes since I was 8, and been on the street for 5 years.
This weekend I picked up my first Cbr1100XX after a somewhat lengthy search, from New Jersey. I rented an enterprize cargo van, and spent my whole staurday driving across PA, and back.
She's an '01 Redbird, 11,000 miles, full exhaust (4:1 carbon fiber), corbin seat, zero gravity screen, LED Undertail, Custom painted hugger, and a headlight protector... I shelled out 5,500 for her. (I've never seen so much cash) I also got 2 brand new shoei helmets witht the XX logo on the side...
The only issues she has is the right side lower fairing has a few minor scratches/gouges, and the right mirror has a couple little scuffs, but nothing major, and the aluminum "flap" on the shifter side footrest is broken off...
these pictures were taken right after I got home saturday night... I'll take some better ones when we get some nice sunny days, LOL

Just a curious question... how far, if any, is your headlight protruding from the upper body plastic?

| Šuane, Glad to hear that you got one. I was feeling guilty. We should get together once the weather warms. This past Saturday I fired up my XX, my oh my what a machine. You will not be dissapointed. The acceleration is brutal to say the least. What part of N.E Ohio are you from, I'm on the east side of Cleveland. Thanks Mark S.

| I'm about an hour east of cleveland, but I'm always travelling to twinsburg, lorain, and berea, zipping out to go cruising would be a non-issue...
I fired mine up when I got it home, sent chills down my spine...haven't kicked it into gear yet though, I cannot wait... I still have to get the title work done... (have it inspected at a dealership, put the title in my name, and then get plates..etc...)
I had wanted to get full coverage on the bike (5500 is a lot for me), but Geico wanted 3k a year for full coverage , so I guess I'll just have to be extra extra careful, and go with liability only...

It just seemed like it was sticking out there awful far in the pictures.
I'm also an engineer, recently (3 years) out of college. Do you have a job lined up yet?

Congrats Duane! Man, you got a sweet deal. I paid $5000 for mine and didn't get HALF the bells and whistles you got. BRAVO! I used to live in Hubbard, Ohio... too damn cold. Hey if you guys go for a ride, head on over to Sharon Pennsylvania and grub on some wings from Quaker steak and lube. (Might want to check if they're still open though, been awhile). Have a blast, stay safe and if you have ANY questions, don't hesitate to post. Great group here.
Plus Kudos on graduating! Two degrees sounds like a lot of work. Best of Luck.

I'm currently a tooling designer for kennametal in orwell.
not a bad job, but not exactly what i was looking for, hopefully I'll find something more design oriented, as right now i'm basically a glorified procurement specialist...

I like the XL, and both sheilds, but i'm willing to part with the L (yes I have a big head)
It has a VERY minor scratch on it, barely noticeable, and a very small bubble on one of the graphics...
neither are obvious, but i like to be thorough

Thanks for stealing a BB from NJ. I was looking for that
Seriously, best of luck with it and maybe I'll see you in OH. I have a friend in Cleveland whom I visit regularly.
