Whats the story on your new '02? I'm looking @ an '01 & getting ready to pull the trigger, are there major/minor differences between the 2 different years? I had a '97 & recently sold it becase I want a FI Bird vs the carbs. Jetting the carbs vs stock FI....or possibly a power commander..any thoughts?

Thanks everbody. I can't wait to get it home. I'm kind of new to "Sport Bikes". Had a year and a half on a Suzuki SV650S. Also have a 2001 BMW R1100RT. This XX just looks to be the perfect bike.
Again Thanks
Mark S.

Like I said before, I got my first real taste of a "sportbike" with the SV650S. But that XX is just so nice looking. And I don't think it's the same ergo's as the SV, am I correct in that asumption? And I can't wait to take it out for a ride.
By the way, I'm vertically challenged, got about a 30" inseam on my best days. See any problems with getting the balls of my feet firmly on the ground?

You're gonna need disco shoes !
Seriously, you'll be fine. I've yet to sit on a bike that I couldn't balance (even those really highly sprung MX monsters)
I'm a whisker under 6' (181 cm).

Yes. It was dumb luck, there was one in N.C. that I was looking at, but it sold, so I got on State 8 web site, searched for XX and found it.
Sorry.

Hey Mark, How was their service overall?
I took my friend up there this weekend to get a bike...
(I thought he was getting a RC51, or a fireblade)
then he plops down on this '03 shadow 750, and proceeds to buy it for $5000....
anyway, i just wondered what you experience was... (what did you end up paying them for the bird anyway?)...how you liked their service and stuff..
