i joined here bc of allt he current bike available i want a SPORT...touring bike.
i have a givi rack and i want to put that on my next bike.
been riding for 5 years started with a vf500 sold it got a 93 zx-6d love the speed, got a kaw 454 cruiser...not for me, sold it to my brother and picked up a spare parts biek for the zx-6 for a killer price. and after beign able to ride very confidently on my zx-6 i wanna step up to a liter bike... but still want to use my givi bags.
that leave kaw 11, busa and the bird
kaw....maybe my 6 is nice but the 11 just don't strike me liek i want my next bike to be, it like just a bigger 6:shrug
busa... everyone and there brother has one and while i loved the look of it when it came out, i can't stnad it now
bird...alwasy loved it.....it is the closest thing to the bike i would really want, cbr1000rr, so i can sort of still have my cake and eat it to.
the girl wants a bike to ride and my other brother is ready to step up to a betterr bike from his ex500 so i'd give him my bike the girle would get the ex500 and i'd get a blackbird.....
now just to find out as much as possible about the bird before i find the right one to buy and the pro's and con's to look out for.

side note: i have had to tear apart my zx-6 bc the tranny had problems and the spark pulg rattled free and the bore got scrapped up, so i can tear apart a bike down to every bolt and put it back together without a problem....i'm just not sure how much my knowledge of the kawasaki's(ex500, zx-6, ltd454) will help in the teardown and rebuilt of a bird if i so have to....this is the only reason reason why it is a tough call between a kaw 11 and a bird

any suggestions?
currently looking at 2003 low mileage birds....black

The XX is a great bike. I like it cause I don't have to tear it down to the last bolt. I have had mine 9 years and 52K miles, only ever burned up a couple regulators.

it's known for having sissy regulators and weak suspension, other than that pretty stable. I have a givi setup on mine, works out very well. Get one!

Six years, 32+K miles. 1 CCT, one chain/sprocket set, Pazzo levers ( nice but not necessary) 4 front tires, Many rear tires, lots of oil changes, changed the plugs once because I was too stupid to read the interval correctly. Clean my K&N each oil change.

More SMILES and great times than any other bike I have had.

Put gas in it and ride.
