Whats up ppl. I have a 98 bb an i had hid l/h put on (all dealer mech) an my lights go off light im 5.0 till they just quit an my speedo an tach flip out im trying to learn all aboout the bb caus its been my best bike. i see the post on the r/r could this be the prob? Took it to Honda of Houston they said all is good new batt an a g later two days same prob. Im reading the r1 is a good one to use but what year does it mater do they all put out same readins?Finding parts is hard to seeing this is the first bike I really got into. Can a sssa be put on it any ino on any parts or mods would be very helpful. I spend alot of time on my bike when it runs but i do check my emails an txt elijah122280@gmail 731-333-6890 an is there say a gathering of bb for a ride of some sort would be nice to get involved in. Download the manual pdf. Try Jaws for BB goodies and necessities. Depending on your milage I would be searching for an replacement rear shock and front rebuild. Check your R&R, stator, and fuses. Do you know when your bike last had new fluids all round? Where'd you get the HIDs? What did they do for a thousand bucks? I use oem when replacing electricals. I'm having a bit of a problem with this sentence; "Can a sssa be put on it any ino on any parts...." What does this mean? Good Luck

I have the bird serviced about 1 a mnth i get all parts from Honda of Houston as that i dont know much about bikes yet. H.I.D came from an installed by honda fluids have been changed new shock/forks/tires/plugs/wires/batt/#530 chain/ every thing has been replaced but internals an sensors with wire harness i have just hit the 30k when i had a wire come loose on my kill switch I had Raymors in Paris Tn replace with a new one i got from Honda then all these problems started. I took back to Tx paid Honda of Houston a g to test the bike only to have them tell me that the batt was bad which i told them that idk? They replaced with a sealed batt this time an it to poped 3 days later. An sry on the sentence (single side swing arm be put on the bike an any info for mods or learning or parts aftermarket). all parts replaced or put on bike have been oem minus the H.I.D.

Ok so here is my deal you guys on this forum r the SH!! you know ur stuff my problem with my bike is the r/r it puts out one way but not the both or something like that. My symptoms if any one else runs into this started out my tach an spedo would go haywire then my headlights would start flashing till they just wnt off or batt finally died u pick the clashay, the spedo an tach would quit then start working fine with no headlights an all electrical lights dim blinkers/brake ect. It over charged i take it poping the lids on the batt burned the wire by the plug so I am taking the advice of the already well into it riders an going with the 01 yzf r1 r/r. Any newbies like me on this site listen to these guys they know what they r talking about Canadianbird an Smurf the two of u guys info was great like a orgasim waiting to happen my bike will be back up an running come tuesday when the parts get here thank you guys so much. Also the part brand new is way cheaper then what honda offers by almost 2 bills 75 for the r1 r/r compare tpo almost 300 for the xx r/r. I dont understand how Honda can make a part that wont cut it for twice the price but i am coming here from now on to get advice an not the shops.

Glad to hear it's geting sorted out. There are other places to buy a R&R I just prefer oem for electrical. Perhaps the search button R&R can provide alternatives. I've only replaced one R&R in 170,000 kms but two stators. I replaced the R&R only b/c I was replacing the Stator and I though, why not to be on the safe side. I can't remember what I paid. Or what Jaws wants. Honda bikes have a rep for their dodgy electrical systems. Even the VFR forum quacks about it. I'm using a MotoBatt battery. Good Luck, hope your weather is riding weather.
