welcome brian, buy it, if you find the bars too low its an easy fix with a set of bar risers.
Hi and welcome Brian, good stuff hope you find what your looking for.
rrruff ruff
talk to deadman if you need some higher bars.
from the other side of the water.
NO! the other side, behind you!
I'm 62 and just bought a Blackbird.............. not so uncomfortable on quick - short rides. Go faster the wind will keep the weight off your wrists. Just kidding........if you are a bit uncomfortable try the bars and lower pegs. I think you will be supprised at how comfortable the 'Bird will be and just soooooooooooo much power, er fun to ride.......... welcome to the forum
Brian
Greetings... Im also in the over 50 club and love my XX, I have the VFR bars fitted and this makes a huge difference...
That said if i notice that im starting to get wrist pain then I find that i have let my elbows lift and im putting weight on the wrists. Pulling the elbows back into towards the body fixes this 100% of the time..

The problem is that God gave man a brain and a penis..... But only enough blood to run one at a time...
Welcome! I am also in the over 50 group ... I am not surprised at that at all. After all, the Bird is a Sport Tourer POWERHOUSE. I just got mine late last season and in the middle of putting her back together. As the others before me said, the mods you require for comfort are very simple. I do not have the same problem as most of the other owners here as I am a little guy, I am tucked even though I'm upright
.
welcome, depends what you are used to.
the change in position can put pressure on wrists, i noticed it at 40 yrs old, but a few hundred miles under the belt on several trips gets the body used to the new position and i havent needed to change anything. its true, the faster you go the less the pressure!
buy one, if you dont like it sell her. you wont lose much.
love it down in south wales, been on trips and stayed couple of nights at lampeter university on a few days ride before
good luck
dont ***k with the baldies

Welcome from the windy city.
from the other side of the Bridge.
my advice would be try and see, there are those much older (but certainly young in spirit) who have no issues with the riding position ............. and those at 30 who already have their slippers fitted! As the others have said, easy fix if needed.Originally Posted by brianwtom
Oh and if you buy a non digi dash model, the speedo numbers are small ..... which if you are starting to get long sighted like me then it is an advantage since you can't see exactly how 'naughty' you are being![]()
Full of Hot air? Intercool yourself............ you know it makes sense
Welcome, Brian. I have not yet done the bar risers or footpeg lowering, but did the cheapo ($0) mods for lowering the height to accommodate my short stature. After doing that, I think the crampness is more pronounced (but I do appreciate the ability to flatfoot at lights). So I may be looking into the pegs sometime in the future as well. Good thing this board has all the answers to assist in personalizing your BB. I say go for it. Chance are, you will be able to adjust the bike to fit your needs and will not regret picking one up.
