    New bird owner

Hi guys. Any help / advice appreciated. Had a fireblade for the last 5 years. However due to wanting to do big milage touring I bought a 99 bird last august for the comfort factor. Soon found out the rectifiers are suspect when I had to replace one.
Are there any other things I need to know about them.
Have currently got it stripped down to check it out over the winter & have decided to renew the brake lines. I have gone along the line of fitting a de-link kit as I don't like the link brakes.
However by de-linking, you lose one of the pots on the front calipers that was used on the link set up. Seems a shame to lose so I have been looking into modifying slightly with a small brake line to bring all 3 pots into use.
Before I go down that route, are there any other calipers which may fit the bird to save messing about with doing my origional idea.
Any advice suggestions and tips welcomed.

    Thanks.

    Hi Chris,

Sorry I can't help with your question, my bird is standard in the brakes department, but welcome aboard, there are alot very very smart guys on here. there will also be at least one thread on delinking the brakes, it may mention options in there?

    Cheers

Get some nice brembo 4 pots on the front, mmm, tasty. Grahamcuk sells the bolt on kits, well worth the investment

Welcome from the windy city. We have some threads on here about de-linking the brakes. I haven't done it myself. I know that there are other calipers that you can buy that would probably be better then running another line. We also have links on the R&R stator issue.

Yeh, have already got the brake & clutch lines from Jaws. Was looking at options before actually fitting the brake lines. The rear calliper is fairly standard using all 3 pots, just feel it's a waste missing the middle pot out of the front callipers.
