]Hello Everybody!
I am getting back into cycling after being away from the experiance for several years. I have had a succession of cycles throughout my riding career and only one of those cycles was not a honda. I had planned on getting a superbird back when they started to appear in this country. I got married instead. Now that I am divorced I have the freedom to start riding again. I would like to know if anyone has any information on a new blackbird from honda, and if that new model will be sold in the US. All I have are rumors. I am anxious to hear concrete information from any member who has a reliable source. Thank you
mgrismer

Not likely to see a new XX anytime soon (we can all hope though). 2003 was the last year they were brought to the US. I bought my 2003 new in a crate last year, though don't think any new ones are left yet. (You never know though, you can have a dealer run a check for you.)

| Sorry about the divorced, but on the plus side, you'll be an XX rider soon! As Conq said, 2003 was the last year imported to the US, but there are plenty of low mileage birds out there for the taking. The engines are bulletproof so you should worry. Many XX's out there approaching and above the 100k mark.

I feel so sorry for you guys.....
No new bird now for almost three years
Can someone get the email address of the CEO of Honda and send him a link to this site showing that there truely are BB lovers out there and that even though the U.S is not Australia, they too should be able to enjoy the experience of riding a new Bird.
(Which by the way comes in a close second to a foursome with some play bunnies )
Better yet, if we could the email address of upper management at Honda, we could post it here and I'm sure all members would get together and email them weekly asking for them to re-release the Bird in the states. (and bring back the blue in time for my next purchase down here in Aus)

I'm a little worried myself. I hope good taste reasserts itself in time.
Maybe we can organize a group buy of CBR1100's for the US guys? Postage would be a bitch though. |

I'm also sorry for your divorce. Been through that myself.
1 month after I separated from my now ex-wife I purchased a '97XX from a buddy who in essence took pity on me and sold me his bird (with 80000 miles) for a song. It's 2 years later, I have over 120000 miles on my XX and have loved every second I've spent on this bike. Even the one's that scared the shit outta me. Let me rephrase that. Especially the ones that scared the shit outta me!!
I would say that this may not be the best machine to get back into riding with. It's alot of motorcycle. May be a better idea to set your sites a little lower for your first year back. An SV 650 is a great little machine and depending on your size might be a better choice to relearn your riding skills. You can picj up a used one relatively cheap and resell it the next year for pretty much what you paid for it. Then get your XX.

Instead of a group buy from Aus why don't you contact Japan and get them to send a couple out for you?

How much do ya reckon the excess baggage would be for a blackbird ? Group holiday to the U.S. perhaps ????

Now that would be novel, australia exporting Blackbirds to the US may not be as silly as it sounds you know, anything with enough interest in it and if someone is making $ and of course the exchange rate some good ol boys from the USA may be riding OZblackbirds very soon.AL
