How many of you would be interested in riding the nations newest and nicest track, Miller Motorsport Park. We would setup a day to spend at the track, prolly friday. Saturday is normal group ride day.

I am just wanting to see if theres enough interest in it before we/I get to far in the planning stages.

We would run a street class with class instruction/riding tips and on track riding instructors, and a track class for guys that have been on track before.

I'd be interested. Of course, cost would be of concern and will it accomodate the XX in street legal form or do you have to rent one of their track bikes. I'm most interested in cornering better, so let us know if there is enough interest.

Street bikes are fine. We'll just need to do a few minor things to make it track ready.

Yeah, Randy, I'd be up for it. Can we get rentals there? If I have to mod the 'bird, will we know exactly what has to be done a decent amount of time prior to the event, or have to wrench on it there?

There is a new guy in town that rents sportbikes but the wrenching needed on your bike is minimal. We can do it all in my garage in 30 minutes or so.

I know your waiting to see if there is enough interest, but maybe a heads up on what needs to get done to the bike to make it track worthy might be needed for us who might need a little more time to get the mods done. Although, Manteca isn't that far to get some help from an expert.

I would be interested in going there. How long is the drive to there from California?

The requirements are pretty simple actually.

Good tires. They do not have to be Sport compound. Sport Touring works fine. Leave the Slicks for guys like Randy.

Brakes and Pads in good shape.

Levers adjusted properly.

Headlight, Turn Signals and Brake Lights taped up or removed.

The biggest pain in the ass simply involves removing the Coolant, flushing the system at least once with Distilled Water then refilling with Distilled Water. Water Wetter used per the instructions is fine when added to teh Distilled Water.

Check this site out. If this works out these guys will probably get our money. They have full details.

Requirements APEX Trackdays

Click the PDF or .doc for Miller Motorsports Park.

Lots of other good info there also.

And don't forget to pull the fuses for your lights, otherwise removing the tape can be messy.

Check with apex but I am sure a 2 piece would be fine. In the slower classes even textiles can be accepted with alot of trackday providers.

They have to have 360 degree zipper to connect and as far as textiles, I saw some at apex last year.

Has anyone arrange fresh tires at the track? I not sure there is a tire rep at Apex days. Does anyone know. Involute, you have be to some. I would think we could talk someone into helping if they dont.

Do we need to sign up for the track day in advance?

Randy, what day is this going to take place?

230 miles from Ely to Toole. Six hours round trip.

I might not want to return to Ely after a trackday.

The Trackday is the 15th. Randy sounds likes he's going to just be setting up the day before heading to Ely for the Group dinner.

230 miles in western Utah/eastern Nevada is typically about a 2 hour trip.....

Yep directly to the track! It saves me another $200 in gas and 6-8hrs of driving roundtrip in the truck/trailer.
