Does anyone know what kind the second car is? It looks small like a Lotus but I don't think that's it.

You don't see an R1 getting it's lunch eaten very often especially by a cage. Of course when you consider that those cars are all 250k plus and the R1 is 10k that was a pretty good fight.

Might not change as much as you think. Top end on the bug is 254 mph. The damn thing has 1001 HP and only weighs about 4600 lbs. With a 180 lb rider aboard, the R1 would be right at 600 lbs. A HP to weight ratio goes to the Yamaha at 3.4 lbs /HP but the aerodynamics and gearing go to the Bug. Even with an 18 tooth front sprocket, the Yamaha is gonna run out of revs at 190. Gear it for 250 and the acceleration will go bye-bye, even with a hair dryer on it. To reach 250 it will take 18/34 gear. Stock is 17/45. With that tall a gear its gonna need the turbo to accelerate to 100 with a stocker.

Cept, say, Indy? Daytona? Talledega?
Oh, and BTW, the Bug is Street Legal.
"Man, it sure is hard work driving 240 mph. You mind turning the A/C up just a tick?"
Why do I seem to think, that monetarily anyway, you would have a lot less to lose by losing your pink, to the fool with the Bugatti, and it's pink baggage?
Still looks like a dually, though. |

Still looks like a dually, though. | OK, I'll say any road race course in the US. The Bug would smoke the DSR in top speed, but he'd have no chance in the corners. It would all be a matter of the length of the straights versus the quantity of the corners. The longer the race, the worse the Bug would do. I wonder how many laps it would take to set the brakes on fire with a 4000 lb car?
Nice car, though.

Nice car, though. | Absotively!
I would have to say, that the neatest part of the whole video, is hearing the Porsche rev it's engine, as it slotted in behind the Veyhron. Wow.
My hobby away from the motorcyle dealy, is a blown alcohol drag boat, which would also smoke the Bug. ESPECIALLY on water!! Seriously, the boat is good for 0 - 140 in under 4 seconds. We run in a class that aims for 7.000 seconds, in the quarter mile.
We don't need no stinkin brakes!! Actually, we use a parachute.
And no, it doesn't cost 1.4m. Sometimes you think it would. Just like the other night, we were calculating costs. Just the rods for our motor run about $1200 /US. We have to change them about every 100 passes. 700 seconds. Yea. We change rods every 25 miles. 700 seconds. $1200 a season. These rods have 11 minutes, 40 seconds on them. Time to buy new ones. OR, everytime we start the boat, it costs us about $12.00, just for the rods. We are not even getting into the Crank, Block, Heads, Fuel, etc. And this is a "Cost concious" class.

Is there any inexpensive form of racing?? I think cost conscious means you count your money before forking it over, instead of just handing your wallet to the guy. Quote:
