Me too, it's a good practice, you never know when you're gonna be the one stuck on the shoulder with a problem!!

Thanks for the "Metrics" explanation guys, as they say - you learn something new every day!!
Having said that, I reckon I forget 2 things every day so life is interesting as I get older!!

I wave to everyone - any motorcyclist including scooter trash, farmers on tractors, migrant workers in fields. You name it - I'm one happy camper when I'm riding and I couldn't care less whether or not they wave back.

The last people I waved to - a farmer and his son pulling a trailer behind a pickup - stood over what they thought was my dead body about 10 minutes after I passed them and called the ambulance to come get me.

Just think, the last people you wave to could end up saving your life.

I ususally wave, then just about the time that I get tired of waving without getting a return wave and give up waving, I start getting waved at. Go figure.

Yep. Works out that way sometimes. Out today waved at two different cruisers (half-assed wave, but a wave none-the-less) who didn't return it, then saw a couple two-up on a harley who went out of their way to both wave at me as I passed them.

Why??? Because they don't ride a "REAL" bike? Are you too good for someone riding a Scooter??

Sounds like the "Harley Rider" attitude that nobody likes.

I wave at everyone that I safely can, two or three wheels, sport or cruiser, and especially Kids in the back seats of cars. Cuz they think we're cool and one day when they hop on two wheels they'll remember how they felt and wave at everyone too

I always wave to the constabulary, to let them know how much I appreciate the opportunity to slow down.

I've been riding the bird a lot to work lately. Go up a stretch where I see a lot of bikes coming the other way. I've been waving at them all. Get some back but a many don't wave. Its a highway so I think a lot of the blokes are just too busy trying to stay upright and don't see me. I've noticed a few at the last second who were waving to me and I try to wave back but I'm thinking that many are past me by the time. Those dude are probably thinking how rude. He didn't wave back. So now when someone doesn't wave back I just think to myself that they did and I was just going too fast to see it.

Lot's of Harley riders wave but the hard core, wearing their colours, don't wave. Some nod though. When there are large groups of them, I "salute" but not the "one finger" salute b/c Harley's make quick u-turns.

If I'm not busy doing something else I will wave to any body that initiates the gesture, I got tired of waving to people that don't respond.

I wave at just about everyone on two wheels if I catch them in time.

What's really funny is when I'm in my truck and see a biker and wave out
of force of habit. Now they're thinkin' I'm nuts or somethin'

I try to be friendly to all folks on two wheels and don't care if they don't wave back maybe it will catch on.
