Motorcycle Transporters ?

I live in New York Im working on buying a bike in Florida. Who is the best transporter & the least expensive?

I have used both Forward Air and Allied. Both were satisfactory neither were great.

If the seller is willing to stuff the bird into the forward air box and you are willing to pull it out would be my choice. Seller wants it done right, you will be carefully taking it out and it spends the least amount of time in transit. Thus less chance of damage. You will need your own tie downs and locks so figure that in for costs.

Allied is good but slower, not sure about cost. Only thing I did not like was turning over the bike to them and walking away not knowing how or when it will get loaded. They do give you ship and arrival dates and they did meet their times.

Just shipped a bike from joisey to California via Specialized Transport.
The purchased made all the arrangements and it was his call.
They told him it would be picked up here, palletized, covered, and would be delivered the same way...Never happened...They picked it up with a box truck, rolled it into a wheel chock, and strapped it down...I argued with the guys but I may as well have been talking to 2 statues...Anyhow, I both emailed and called the purchaser to let him know what happened. He figured it would be moved to a central location, put on a pallet and shipped. He didn't seem worried, but it arrived tied down the same way, uncovered, filthy, with minor damage. He called the shipper who only said here's my insurance info...make a claim if you want. His deal, his dime, but I sure wouldn't have been good with that...Moral, be careful and get lotsa referances...Hank

I used Charlie Bean when I shipped mine from Massachusetts to Florida. He was $600 round trip. Picked it up at my house and returned it with no problems.

I hear that Scotty is pretty good at transporting when he's not fixing the warp drive on the enterprise

. Actually I have never used a bike transporting service myself but a friend of mine used Allied with fairly good results. The price was as stated and the bike arrived in great shape but it was a day or two later then what was stated. He felt that it might have been cheaper to fly down and ride it back.
