The "Flying Objects" post made me think of this.
In 1984 I was on a long road trip through Texas with three others bikes traveling on a four lane south to Waco. We had been on the road for about 30 hours. It was night-time and I was in the front and falling asleep. A semi passed us in the fast lane and the blast or vacuum pulled me under the truck which woke me up. I remember seeing the rivets in the trucks undercarriage.
I gassed it and rolled back out and into the right-hand lane. Scared the shit out of the guys I was riding with. They said I completely vanished. We decided to get some chicken, beer and some sleep and complete the trip the next day.

Misipi97... I think that I just $h!t my pants reading about that one. I've had a few close calls in my time. One time me and some of my buddies were running around the city. We were getting on them a bit and had some speed going when a bus pulls out in front of us. We all start clamping on the brakes and down shifting and I go shooting right by my buddies like they were standing still and I bouncing all over the place like I'm on a bronking bull. Back wheel is hopping all over the place and the bike isn't slowing down. I'm getting closer and closer to the back of the bus and finally come to a stop about 6 inches short. Friggin rear tire had a nail in it and had lost most of the air. The good thing is that I missed the bus and was only about a mile from home to boot.

I dont have anything that scary but I do have one you guys might find funny.
I was riding on a service road entering onto an on ramp. there was a car in front of me merging as well but suddenly slammed on their brakes as I was glancing to my right to check traffic. I then saw the brake lights and I slammend on my front brake lever. It was so quick that I racked my nutsack on the gas tank and had to pull over to catch my breath and hobbled around until I got my strength back. I wasn't even actually close to hitting the car in front of me but that split second of not paying attention startled me.

Go ahead and laugh at me now

OK Ted, ha ha ha ha ha. Not really, been there done that.

This one wasn't me, but relayed by the person it happened to.

He was in a group riding in Thailand. He was leading in the left hand lane (with a concrete barrier on his LHS at the edge of the lane). A bus decided he wanted to change lane, so this guy sped up to get out of the road, while the rest of the group slowed down. They lost sight of him as the bus moved over to the concrete barrier. After a while the bus moved back to the right and the group saw a clean "stripe" on the dirty bus starting halfway up the length of th bus and finishing by the front door. When they caught up to their mate, they saw the matching dirt on the shoulder of his jacket, and he was white as a ghost.

THis happened just last week..
I was on my way home from work when I came up on a pair of Harleys on a two lane road. Could not past because of the traffic in the other lane. We were coming up on a biker bar and they slowed down to turn in. They slowed kinda fast so I had to keep an eye on them as normally I would be watching my rear in a situation like that. Soon as I cleared them I looked in the mirror and there was this truck sliding sideways in the ditch. I was well on my way by then. Good thing he saw us when he did.
