18k for a 2009 Yamaha VMax?

Yes boys and girls the new VMax is available for order. What do you think of the 18,000 dollar price tag?

HHmmmm, pay 18 grand for a specialised boulevard cruiser...... nope, thats WAY to much.

What they have there is a 9.000usd, niche bike.

It's a pig! Although Yamaha claims 197 RWHP, the thing wont do 140 MPH.
It also weighs in at just under 650 lbs.
Jeeeeeez... Oink, oink!

I've never been big on the vmax bike. I could buy 3 maybe 4 used birds here in the US and still have money left over.

v-max were always macho bikes in many terms...weight , brutal look, and performance, totally rear tire killers mostly seen going straight.....turning was a different thing and usually their riders ended to open new roads..(crash ,bang ...parts everywere..)...looool.....hope they managed to get the damned v-boost system to work correctly, and also better handling because the cc's have gone up.....

No thanks! I've never been a fan of the VMax myself either. And for the money I could get myself quite a few toys.

Re: 18k for a 2009 Yamaha VMax?

I went to the dealership today and was asking if they will have one on the showroom soon to look at. They told me no and in order for me to see one I would have to put a 1000 dollar non refundable deposit to order one.
HMMMM 18k for the thing plus a grand deposit and I haven't sat on it yet????
One thing to note too guys is that only 2500 will be released in the states so it should be an immediate collectors item. Maybe this is their excuse for the 18k price tag.
I will have to agree with you guys on this............

Re: 18k for a 2009 Yamaha VMax?

Yamaha must be off their rocker !
Why restrict the sales to 2500 ? .... Of all the world markets, I would have thought the US would be a perfect market for this type of sports cruiser !
As a collector piece ......... I'm sure Jay Leno has one on order already !

Re: 18k for a 2009 Yamaha VMax?

..agreed...more and more people are frustrated for many exhausts look in many 2006 and later models..i was also frustrated by the look of the cbr 1000 rr '08 exhaust look until i find that includes great stuff that helps to keep this great hp and torque dynogram that still no other 1000 cc's supersport can't produce...!.. look sucks but performance rocks...!
