Has anyone heard any whispers as to what might be replacing the Bird ? I have heard several rumours. A big V Twin, A V5, even a turbo, say 900-1000. Mr Honda seems to be very very quiet. Lets hope its something to rival the birth of the Bird. Also . What would you like to see roll out the Honda Factory ?

I would like something with blackbird characteristics like, large fuel capacity, reliability, comfort, handling, ergonomics,b raking, but with some extra power and in a nicer looking package, because i think the bird is ****ing ugly and the only reason i bought one is because it was by far the best all round package and dirt cheap at a run out sale.

There have been rumors of a V5 and a big twin. There was a similar thread recently where someone posted up some pics of a new honda (I think it was a concept bike). Let me tell you it looked more cruiser then sport. It was fugly IMO. A twin or V5 engine could work if done right. I'd like to see a 1200-1300 cc model but with a lighter weight. I'd want one that would be shorter in wheelbase and lighter.

Ugly???? You're ugly and your mamma wears gum boots. What are you going to do with 200 RWHP? Shall we start a thread with what should be oem? OK, HID's high, low. Adjustable rear shock, USD forks. 1500 cc turbo charged, overdrive. ABS. Stock hard bags. Seat choices, adjustable bars. GPS and radar(hidden). Top of the line Nissan brakes with steel lines clutch included. Stock headers. Etc, Etc. Dream on, keep smoking.

there really is no niche to fill...
the people that bought the bird as a sport TOURING bike, have the ST-13
the people who bought it as a SPORT touring bike have the interceptor
the people who want a sport bike have the fireblade
and the people who wanted a touring bike have the goldwing....
the hyper-sport class is kind of dead since the 186 mph block they instituted..
the fireblade is faster than a stock bird to 186, so theres nothing left to do here....
I doubt honda is going to raise the bar any...it's the end of an era...

looks pretty...
USD forks look good...
not a fan of the "kawasaki" vent under the windsheild...
and 1200 just seems too small compared to the eye abuser, and zx-14

Now that one looks good. Real similar to the best looking bike on the planet.
I would actually like to see some new tech stuff added. I would like to see exhaust like they have on the 1000RR. That should be lighter and provide more mass centralization. ABS would also be nice for the touring side of things. Perhaps some things that would lighten things up a bit.

Growler67... Excellent and accurate observation. If they do that it would look better and if they add a racing stripe it will be 5mph faster. |

*sigh* not awe inspiring...
the thing i loved most about the bird was the fact that it still looked like a sport bike, but was comfy enough for long rides...
that new viffer looks like a ST13, and kinda like the DN-01...
nowhere near as sexy as the 'Bird
I DO like the SSS though...

I like the looks but the bird looks better. I don't care for the color in that pic and I would like to see a larger displacement.

Mmmmm V5. Wonder if it will have VVT. I hope it doesn't look too much like the VFR800, as it does in the pic'.

Interesting but I am not overjoyed if this is the replacement for the Bird. I am guessing HP figures around the same as the CBR1000RR...... mid 150's. Busa killer...probably not..
Hyper sport is not dying out Magley64. Actually the Busa outsells any other bike 10 to 1 here in the states if that tells you anything.
