Hi Friend,
I would like to know the rate of the gas consumption (Year 98, standard) at
below 140 KM/ hrs = How many KM per liter
above 140 but less than 180 = How many KM per liter
above 180 +++ = How many KM per liter
Thank you

Commuting to work doing 120 kph I get about 18 klm/litre.
Going faster and accelerating harder during a tank will get me as low as 15 klm / litre

Just looking for something to compare - I seem to be getting around 12 - 14 km per litre though I already suspected I was running a bit rich.

Stop quoting this erroneous figure of 3.89 litres per US gallon !
It is 3.7854 litres per US Gallon ... Gallon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Are any of you running corrected speedo's/odometers? I have yet to correct mine, but when I checked mine with GPS, my speedo was off about 9-10% and my odo was off about 4-5%. If you haven't corrected your odometer, then it's sad to say that your mileage is most likely worse than you thought.
Using the odo as is, I get about 36 mpg commuting and about 39-40 mpg on the long haul. When I do a lot of shorter runs it dips down to 32 mpg or so.

no idea what i get...
im mostly commuting (30min or so round trip each day)
i seem to notice a big difference between staying on about 120, compared to a touch over 130....
lasts just that little bit longer....

I am concerned based on the comments here. I just got my 1100XX and ran though the first tank.
I only got 25 MPG (based on trip ODO and gals to fill back up).... I don't know any of the previous history of the bike... It has 20,500 miles on it and sounds fine, runs smooth and doesn't have a rich smell to the exhaust.
25 MPG sounds terrible for "easy" riding... communting to work, mostly around 6000 rpm riding.. stop and go surface streets..
Do you all have any idea what could cause such low mileage?

-Carb rejet kit
-Power Commander or other ECU mods
-Fuel-Air mix is wrong
-6000 rpm commuting seems high (I'm sitting on 120 kph @ 4000)
I would get it professionally tuned and see what happens after that

Check your tire pressure too -- under pressure tires use more gas. Tire pressure for the 'bird should be 42lbs front and rear. Seems crazy high for the front, but that's what Honda recommends.

I'm not so sure what "easy Riding " is I ride the bike everyday on a 35 mile round trip commute. Sometimes during the week I do a little jaunt thru town to pick up whatever fits in the tank bag. I usually fill up around 180-185 mile range indicated and it always takes about 5 US gallons. So the numbers would seem to work out. I make it a point to hit triple digits to and from work, and enjoy playing with the other bikes that I run into on the way. It would seem that an advanced case of "wristitis" has no impact on the MPG. |

Do you all have any idea what could cause such low mileage? | 6000rpm seems a bit high for stop/go commuting. I do 4000rpm stop/go.
You could try doing a long run out on the highway (2 tanks). When I did that my range went from 250km/tank to 310km/tank when I returned to commuting.

It might have been geared down ... I run 4,000 rpm at 70mph ... 6,000 rpm at cruise is high ... might explain your mileage ...

Do you all have any idea what could cause such low mileage? | check your sprocket size, esp the front
I have a 15 tooth sproket on the front / stock rear
interstate riding i run at about 5500 rpm around 75-80 mph
when I had the stock sprocket i noticed that I could get about 150 - 170 miles from a tank, now i get about 120 - 130 per tank i really need to go back to stock!!!
