I know little of Australia, so please excuse my ignorance. Is it possible to ride a motorcyle across across Australia? Through the center instead of along the coast. The middle of Australia looks very remote. Is there sufficient infrastructure, gas stations, water, food, etc. to ride from East/West through Alice Springs? Without adding a fuel cell most motorcycles need to be refueled every 170 miles (270 km) or so. Are the roads decent enough for a motorcycle to make this trip. If so it, it seems one could could ride at high speed for extended time, like all day at 150 mph.

hey buddy
I have not done a ride across Aus but it is on the to do list, yes u can and the main route is the Nullabour, some of the West Australian oz blackbird guys did the run to get to the Phillip Is Moto Gp recently.
the roads are long and straight but speed limits apply if my memory serves me correct, the Northern Territory is the only place in Aus with no speed limits and that ends in Jan with a cap limit of 130km/hr.

No mate, not East West. The only way to do it is across the bottom Melbourne to Perth, or across the top Townsville to the West coast. You can go top to bottom by the coast on both the East and the West sides or straight up the guts from Adelaide to Darwin, either way you choose its around 3000 miles one way give or take. Mate hope this helps

Hi, I've done the Nullabor trip quite a few times (& going again in Feb) both by car & bike heaps of accomodation & fuel, good roads tho straight & boring well patroled by the police, tho I have mainly cruised at about 130/140kph & had no troubles on the W.A. side. Gotta be careful of the wildlife at night tho lots of Kangaroos, Emu's etc & tho the trucks don't stop for them they sure make a mess of a bike & rider.
