Well next week I was going to ride down to Tucson to visit my Mom and sister for turkey day. Sunday I put the XX up on the lift to do some prep work for the trip, new tire, change countershaft sprocket, oil, ect! I picked up some wheel weights yesteday to balance the rear wheel. I go out tonight to balance the rear wheel and find my baby laying on it side!
She fell over and off the lift from about 30 inches!!!
I pick her up, put her up on the pitbull rear stand to assess damages, start tearing it apart. Its bad, reallllllly bad!!!! $$$waytomuch+ in damage. upper, lower, handlebar, corbin smuggler, subframe, front wheel, maybe forks. Then on top of that I turn the key on to see if it has juice. The broken handlebar start button is laying on the other side of the bike on the fairing and it wraps the chain around the countershaft sprocket busting the case!!!
Does the gun go in the mouth or under the chin?????
Some of you are going to have some nice trick shit on your bikes soon!

I was all about repairing it until the chain wrapped around the CS and broke the case!
That repair and all the other replacement parts, are more than the bikes worth.

Are you sure the case can't be fixed using less than perfect methods? The plastic can be repaired. Everything else has to be just bolt on stuff. I'm sure the collective group has enough stuff to get your bike back on the road. I've got stuff you can have. I'll even fix your plastic for you if your not worried about a perfect looking bike.

You sure you don't wanna get another BB??

I'll get some pic tomorrow of the case. It tore off all the mounting metal and bolt holes for the clutch slave, preatty much everything forward and above the CS are gone. No oil is leaking and I dont know if in fact it went through the case but I have a feeling its not good!
I love my bird! I was one of the first to really trick it out in the US and had alot of cool shit on it.
I would like a long distance runner but would, in reality use a motard more. I have a kickass go cart track Stockton Motorplex about 15 minutes up the highway thats cheap to rent. $170 a year and ride anytime you want up till 10pm. Mondays and tuesdays are open track days for motards. Damn near every top rider in the world uses it to practice in the off season. Checa, Hopper, Hayden, Chandler, Biatchi and alot more, all go there to ride when there in Cali.

(It took some work, a whole lot of technical advise, and a ton of patience)

Just some ****ed up luck, thats all!

Sorry to hear.
Maybe you can "patch" it up and use it as a track bike.

Before you start to part your bike out, have you had the insurance adjuster over yet?
BTW, Dale may have his for sale real soon! Practically lives in your back yard (more or less).

I just found it last night. I am going to go over it this eve and weekend to see if its salvagable but I think the case being broken preatty much did me in from a financial standpoint.
I'll call the insurance today to see what I can expect from them. That along with my findings this weekend will determine what road I'll take.

Although I obviously don't have a case, I have lots of other bits and pieces, some of which you've named. You decide to salvage it, let me know. I know a decent plastic and paint repair dude not horribly far from you, too.
