They do it very well. Because they understand their market so well, they have a huge market share. Every Japanese manufacturer has a Harley clone, but Harley still kicks all their collective asses when it comes to sales.
Harley is sucessful and they make money. That's what it's all about.
Why does it upset you guys that Harley does so well with a motorcycle that is not even in competition with the kind of bikes you ride? | i think its because members here are insecure about there cbr1100xxsuperblackbird,ive never come across a site dedicated to a particular model that bags other bikes/brands like this one.
if you think its good for your economy for a manufacturer to shut down for a week, think about if that same manufacturer decided to send all of there operations off shore, i'm sure it would have some effect on the local economy, would have a devestating effect to those employed by HD, but i guess if it was made in japan or wherever it would be good then, hey?

This site is for a particular model. What did you expect?
2. There are a lot of other model riders here. For example, the connie 14 group seems to be growing. Everyone bags everyone and everything here. The only insecurity I have seen here is when the HD brand is mentioned. Boy, knickers get in a bunch then!
Just look at the guys selling Birds with ridiculous claims in the blog. They get shot down quickly. Even the Bird cops flack for not keeping up sometimes. (...but if the riders were equal )
Get over yourself. aaaahhhhh!
Get a life.

Well its good harley is all american then.
So, why is there harley discussion in xx site? i belive they got their own site to discuss their "wont start" or "shit-no oil" bikes

If a company can get parts, materials, etc overseas at a cheaper price, they do so. This can either lower costs or increase profits. I'm sure most companies want to increase profits rather than lower prices to us, the consumers. I would have to guess that most anything that says "American made" today has parts or materials from overseas. It's just plain economics. It amazes me the hatred displayed toward Harley. So they make a bike for a certain consumer, big deal! To each his own. If we were all exactly the same, life would get pretty boring.

Well well well.... About harley, what amazes me is that they are making the same shit since the 20`s, and people are buying it, and pay way to much, the technology at thoose bikes is "%&¤##¤&&¤/()&" crap. well, you also have crap from England as well, but they are trying to make progress and develop. (but do they sucsee?) hehe no comment.
And as you say, :if we were all exacly the same, life would get pretty boring!
That is so right as it can get.
Who should we make fun of if we all did ride the same bike?? that would be boring...
And if someone is wondering,: Yess i dont like hareys,triumph,norton,bsa...
probably the same opinion as thoose who ride harleys triumph bla bla bla means about japaneese bikes.

Harley Davidson's quality control has gone up since the seventies. They even all have fuel injection now, which isn't true yet of the Japanese bikes. My biggest issue with H-D is that the bikes are expensive, compared to the competition. Honda should send that fuel-injected 750cc shadow to the U.S. Although what I really want is that new CB1000R.

And who is always making engines better and better ? H-D ? dont think so.
Even triumph has improved a litle bit. AMEN
They are stoned aged. And because they had put on som f.injected model dosent mean that they are improved. just more parts to break down
and yes, some jap.models has carbs, if its a question..but they runs, well!
And prices for a h-d compared to quality no comment.
