Leave today with JRA for what should be the last 2 track days of the year. This will be my 3rd trip to Barber this year. This will be my first experience in the "I" group as I got my bump from "B" to "I" the last trip down there.

Rich,
BTW, congrats on the bump. Made ya feel like you were doing somthing right out there. Not that I would know. I'm the kid outside the candy store with his nose pressed against the glass. So you and JRA will be in the same group, or is he in the advanced group?
What's your bike number? I'll check the photographer site in a couple of days. Also let me JRA's bike number.

ha ha, no, John is in the Advanced group. My best lap is a 1:57, John runs consistent 1:38's to 1:40's, just a wee bit of a difference.
My number is 271. Dang ya know I can not think of what John's is. Quote: |

As it turns out it rained all morning today, did not get on the track until after lunch. Temp dropped and wind. About 47 when we finished up. Suppose to be better tomorrow, high of 60 and sunny.
Randy that would be too cool if you could make it out here for trackdays when we are here.

Well Sunday was a much better day. Sunny, got up to about 62, dry track, 5 -10 MPH winds. Dropped my lap times incrementally until lunch time, changed out the Pirelli Super Corsas for a set of Super Corsa Pros. Soft rear, super soft front. HOLY CRAP, immediately knocked 2 secs a lap off. What awesome tires. Had an incident in the middle of the afternoon, heading up the back stretch towards the kink at about 110 , a control rider came up the inside of me as I was tipping into the left hander, made me stand the bike up and square the turn off, over the curb through the grass over the other curb, back on to the track. In retrospect, it was probably not as close as I thought, but I did not think I could get back into position to make the transition back to make the right hand part of the kink which would have caused me to go off the outside of the turn, which would not have been a good thing. All in all a very fun day. Ran a personal best time of 1:53.22 the last session that I rode. This is 4 seconds better than the last time we were there in October.

Personal bests are always so fulfilling - doesn't matter what it is, congrats.

I do not know what brand it is, it was on the bike when I bought it. It was pretty much a turn-key track bike when I bought it. Had the suspension refreshed, new tires, chain, and sprockets. Added a couple of things after, Vortex gas cap ( no lock), Woodcraft rearsets, and a GPR steering damper.
They were trying to pass me. |

The days we ran in the pictures was with NESBA and the cost was $195/day. I believe it is $205 /day for a single day, they give you a slight break if you do 2 days. I believe that Road Atlanta was the the same or just slightly less per day.

Definetly not cheap, but it looks like it would be a hell of a time!

One trackday is all it takes and your going to be selling body parts to keep the adrenaline flowing.
