For those of you who don't know of my recent accident, here is the original thread.
For all you well-wishers, concerned XX riders, prayer senders, and parts procurers - a huge thanks from the bottom of my heart.
6 weeks to heal the broken collarbone, and 7.5 weeks to repair and reassemble the broken XX. A few shakedown rides and she was good to go!! (sorry - it's taken a couple of weeks to post this as I've been spending all of my recent off time riding!! ).
Just this week did a 250 mile trip over Chinook pass to Naches and back over White pass and Skate Creek parkway on Monday after work, a 60 mile ride on Tuesday after work, and a 350 miler today to Mt St Helens Windy Ridge side and finished the day off with a quick jaunt out to the coast at Raymond/South Bend for some oysters!!
Pics of Mt St Helens today:
Just need some new tires mounted and an oil change and we'll be leaving for Hookers on Thursday next week!! See you all there.

Great to hear you're back in the saddle.
What a strange year for weather, we're getting more rain in the Houston area than I can remember in quite some time and it looks like you all are enjoying some great weather. Great pics!

Great pics! | Yeah, record highs here in the western states at the moment. It was in the low 90's here yesterday (for all you southerners, that's pretty friggin' hot in this area) Quote:

Congrats and see you in NV real soon. | Thanks Will, just need to replace a scratched up left TBR muffler but I ran out of funding. Should only cost about $300 but I'm thinking of leaving it to remind of the incident.

Nice job Vern! I think it looks better without the stickers too!
Leaving the scratches on the exhaust as a reminder is a good idea too.
They're barely noticeable to anyone except you anyway.

Glad your back on 2 wheels.
Good pics, and if I'm seeing them right, it would appear that Mnt St. Helens has changed 110% since I was there in 92.
At that time the lake was completly covered in floating logs...the whole lake actualy looked brown. If that is the lake I'm thinking of, it sure has turned into a pretty blue.
Same with the hills around there. The trees were all laying down pointing away from the volcano, and there was very little green to be seen. Funny how old mother nature can heal herself (well, with a little help from some tree planters as well)

Lou | Sorry so long for a response - been really busy lately - plus our computer died.
You're absolutley correct about Mother Nature. Spirit Lake has completely changed and the color is beautiful. I also remember when the logs were setup as you described. USGS wanted to see how harvesting vs nature would work so left one side of the road all in disarray and laid the logs in rows like toothpicks on the other side of the road. Since I now cannot tell which side was which, I guess leaving it alone would have achieved the same results for a lot less $$.
