Yet another reason to NOT watch the news.

They never have anything good to say, just sensationalistic BS.

I sometimes watch it for the weather forecast, but can get more info about that on the computer.

I say the media.......

Actually, I hate those type of sportbike riders also. If they didn't treat public roads like racetracks, the news wouldn't have anything to report, and we'd all be better off.

The other day on the news, they called a WWII era M1 Garand an "assault sniper rifle." It can't really be both (nor is it either one), but they called it both to make use of (2) "hotwords".

I looked on our local news website to see an article entitled "Motorcycle Rider Killed At Goodfellow And Greer" and found something totally unexpected...

"A 20-year-old motorcycyle driver is dead after being shot several times at the intersection of Goodfellow and Greer in St. Louis. The victim's family says he had three young children. A second motorcycle driver and two police officer ssuffered minor injuries when that driver arrived at the scene and collided with a police car. No one was in custody Tuesday evening.
It happened around 3:45 p.m. The intersection and nearby streets were closed as police investigated."

I agree... man watching that video and seeing how big groups of bikes were passing cars on S-turns, it's like they were passing just cause they guy in front of them was, and not even considering that a car could come around! at once particular point it looked like if a car had come around the blind corner it would have whiped out about 4-5 riders.

Get up there early before the squids get out of bed and the roads are yours.......

Just stay on 60 and go north to Tenn. 68 and then to the Cherohala Skyway.
270 degree sweepers at 70 mph are fun, fun, fun!

Large group dynamics. That's why you have to have ride leaders and group organization. Hand signals- "safe to pass" or "stay back" and such go a long way. Those guys were like military pilots flying in formation- keying off the lead and not making their own decisions.

It's hard for cagers to understand the acceleration and braking that bikes have to enable them to pass on short straights. Not excusing some of what you saw, but then again, some of what you saw wouldn't be possible or safe in a car, but is on a bike.

Even the ones who are being vocal about it are saying it's a few that is screwing it up for the many.

It's not all sportbikes.

150 mph? Puhhhleeeeez. Either it's a flat out lie, or someone needs their laser recalibrated. There was exactly one scene in that footage where there was enough distance to get even a ZX-14 up to 150.

The store owner is an idiot. His would be the absolute last place I would frequent if I rode in the area. Our stores in Hill Country may not like us, bur they have a smile on their faces, and they post signs with "motorcycles welcome" on them. Why bite the hand that feeds you?

It seems to me concentrated law enforcement would go a long way here- isn't that what they're doing at the gap?
