Just want some opinions from everyone here......
NO DISCRIMINATION INTENDED - I'M A WOMAN ASKING THIS QUESTION, NOT OFFENDED BY ANY RESPONSE - TAKES A LITTLE MORE THAN WORDS TO OFFEND ME
Would you rather purchase a bike from a man or woman? or Does it even matter?
I am just curious, I have been trying to sell my F4 now for about 2 months and I've had a few people look at it and call me about it, but nothing further... Is it the price, or that I'm a woman, or both?
Its getting frustrating...... Any opinions would be appreciated, or any ideas on how to sell my F4 faster would be very much appreciated. I would love to get a Blackbird, but can't until this one is gone. I'm still riding the F4, it would be stupid to just let it sit and NOT go riding....
Let me know thanks!

For those that haven't seen the ad: Selling 99 F4, want to purchase a 99 or newer Blackbird
I don't think its a gender thing. I wouldn't care...
But I think your price is a little high. I sold a 2003 600RR with only 500 miles for only $400 more than your asking price...
KBB doesn't always mean anything, but KBB shows the retail price of a 99 CBR 600F4 as $4130. And it shows the 03 CBR 600RR as $5675.

To be honest, I would rather buy a bike from a girl. I think over all, girls are far easier on their equipment than guys.
Maybe it's your asking price? if not, try wearing a lower cut top when they come to look at it.....

I think you might be asking a little much... well not me but I told some of my mates and they said it was a bit high considering the milage. The extra stuff doesnt really count for that much with some people. It seems like a really nice bike. I bought my 98 blackbird for 4000 with similiar miles. But as Lois said... I would rather by a bike off a female as well. I wish more chicks rode bikes.

I'm with the rest of these guys on the asking price being a little high. Personally, I think you've done a tremendous job with the farkles and would be proud to own that bike, but the average snotnosed kid that's in the market for that bike has absolutely no idea the amount of money, time, effort they all cost - and really probably won't appreciate the added benefits of most those add-ons. I think you should strip some of it off, lower your asking price, and sell off some the extras. You'll probably make more money that anyway.

I think your price is a little steep...I could care less if it was a girl or a guy who had it, as long as it has been taken care of and not abused. You can always try E-Bay.

I think that women are a little easier to purchase from....I dont think they try to BS you as much. If I do purchase anything from a guy, I prefer it to be an older guy, like maybe in his 50s or 60s. Again, I dont think they try to BS you as much as younger guys.

I have no bias, but would actually prefer to buy from a woman-not likely to have been abused. I would guess price. KBB is always high, everyone wants to sell by KBB-no one wants to buy using their price. I would do
a Cycle Trader search in your region and compare your price to others listed. Good luck in sale.

I think my preference would be a bike ridden by woman and maintained by the shop or a man. I'd rather deal with a woman cause of the male BS factor too.
List it for $4300 or $4400 and see what happens. Unfortunately its tough to get $$$$ for the gadgets we add.
good luck.

Use N.A.D.A. Official Used Car Guide Company also to compare the listed value of the bike, a lot of banks use this to do thier finances when members call and ask questions. I say compare them both and find a reasonible line. Great bike and good extras.....GOOD LUCK!

FYI I just got offered a 2003 Ninja 636R for $4000.00 with 15,000 miles.
unfortunately add-ons don't increase the resale value.
keep the radar detector and cell mount for your next bike, heck maybe the Throttle-meister would fit the new bike.
Polishing and custom paint are hard to get $$ for, cause like in my case, I am looking for a track day bike and don't care about bling.
Nice bike, good luck.

I don't feel it would matter to me who sold it,it's a trust level when dealing with that person. We have a woman who sells bikes at our dealership and smokes the guys month after month, and it's not because of her looks either.I would take off what extras you can, keep them for the next bike or sell them individually and drop your price a little. And I'm sorry but I'm not buying 125 at the wheel,WSS 600 would be lucky to make that in 99 so I wouldn't advertise it at all,if it puts doubt in my mind it will in others too.
It does look good though.

Al | The RWHP of 125 isn't just a number I made up. Its the number I got back from Fast Bikes USA after it was Dyno Jetted every other year. I have the charts and paperwork to back that up. Sorry you question it, but I don't have anything to gain by lying about my bike. I'm straight forward and honest, and if i didn't have the numbers and Fast Bikes backing what I said up it would never have been put on there. Thanks for the suggestions though!

Their dyno is VERY optimistic. If you put an 1100XX on the same dyno, it will probably come back with 200rwhp.
A stock 1100XX is usually in the 130's, so there's no way a 600F4 is pulling 125rwhp without any engine modifications.
Because of how much dynos vary, a single number doesn't really mean much. Dyno's are good for getting a baseline number, then making jetting/exhaust/whatever changes, then run again on the SAME dyno, under the same conditions, to see if there is an increase. That will give you a pretty good representation of how much HP you gained.

I know I don't have much experience with motorcycles, according to Fast Bikes with the racing exhaust and everything, the circumstances have been basically the same everytime its been jetted. The first time it was jetted I had all of the exhaust work done. I haven't touched it since then only to clean it and get it re-jetted every other year to re-tune the bike as instructed to do. The number is from Fast Bikes USA, and the bike is not your typical F4 either! I'm not going to argue with anyone here, all I know is what I have been told. Thanks for all the input!

There was a very heated discussion on unscrupulous dyno opperators at Cycle forums. CycleForums - zx-12 |
