I sit here confused looking at that shot. How could you get a bike at that angle while still holding on, and did he live to tell his tale? Not too bent on the busa taking a spill, I just hope he was o.k.

Wait a second, thats no Hayabusa, look closer at the frame. Looks early to mid 90's to me with newer bodywork.

Helmet would have been fine had a bothered to fasten the strap.
Spend very much time around motorcycle drag racing and you'll see all sorts of strange stuff happen at or near the starting line. Most of it results in no more than bumps and bruises.
Bad news is you also see some really scary stuff happen on the big end and sometimes at mid track as well. People forget to line the forks back up after riding up on the bars to the 1000 foot mark, cross winds as you clear the bleachers just blowing you into the wall, frames breaking, people forgetting they only have a 125 section front tire and grabbing a bunch of front brake and that's only the shit that happened to me.
I can tell from the pics that that is a small tire bike. We used to have a saying around the track that just about anyone can ride a car tire bike if it is setup right and just about no one can ride it if it is wrong. Small tire bikes are a little easier but no-bar bikes can do this at almost any time. All it takes is a little too much traction and a little too much weight on the clutch.
